Software
▪ Server environment - one of the following versions:
– Preferred: Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 Bit)
– Compatible: Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008 SP 2
(32 Bit), Windows Server 2008 SP 2 (64 Bit)
▪ Supported database:
– Preferred: MS SQL Server 2008 R2 (32 Bit)
– Compatible: MS SQL Server 2005 SP3 (32, 64 Bit), MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 (32 Bit, 64 Bit)
– Only for testing/training purposes: MS SQL Server 2005 SP3 Express (32, 64 Bit), MS SQL Serv-
er, 2008 SP1 Express (32, 64 Bit), MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (32, 64 Bit)
▪ The software required for running Trace Monitor can be found on the Support Media DVD. This in-
cludes:
– Java 2 Java Runtime Environment 1.6
– SQL Server 2008 Express SP1 (for testing and training purposes only)
– Tomcat Web Server 5.5
– Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 Framework
– Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, 6.0 SP2
– Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3
– License Manager 2.2 SP1
The following software is not supplied on the Support Media DVD and must be acquired separately, if
needed:
▪ MS Excel 2000/2003 (to visualize exported CSV files)
▪ MS SQL Server 2008 (Standard Edition)
▪ MS SQL Server 2008 R2 (Standard Edition)
▪ MS SQL Server 2005
▪ SIPLACE Explorer V2.9
5.1.3 System Requirements for the SIPLACE Explorers Traceability Option
The following requirements must be fulfilled for the installation of the traceability option in SIPLACE Ex-
plorer:
▪ Trace Monitor 3.3 application
▪ SIPLACE Explorer V2.9
For the SIPLACE Explorer system requirements, refer to the "Installation and Configuration Guide"
(Item No.: 00195630-xx).
NOTICE
Support Media DVD
Perform the Prerequisite Installation for the product SIPLACE Traceability 3.3 from the Support
Media DVD. See the "Prerequisite Analyzer" chapter in the Support Media Getting Started
[00195490-xx].

5.1.4 Software Components and Configuration
5.1.4.1 Software Components
The SIPLACE Traceability installation CD contains the following software components:
▪ Trace Service 3.3
▪ Trace Monitor 3.3
▪ Traceability Option 3.3 for SE 2.9
The following software components on the Support Media DVD must be installed on your computer be-
fore you can install SIPLACE Traceability 3.3:
▪ Java 2 JRE 1.6
▪ Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 Framework
▪ Apache Tomcat 5.5
You do not need to install Tomcat 5.5 on the same computer as Trace Monitor 3.3.
▪ MS XML Parser Version 6.0
MS XML Parser Version 6.0 is also required for Trace Monitor 3.3. Install MS XML Parser Version
6.0 on the same computer as Tomcat 5.5. You should also install Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 Framework
on this computer.
▪ Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, 6.0 SP2
Microsoft Internet Explorer is needed for displaying Trace Monitor and for invoking Traceability data
from the database. Install Microsoft Internet Explorer on the same computer as SIPLACE Traceabil-
ity.
▪ Adobe Reader 7.0
This component is needed for reading the SIPLACE Traceability 3.3 documentation.

5.1.4.2 Configuration
Trace Service can either be installed in SIPLACE LAN or distributed via SIPLACE and client LANs. The
following configuration options exist for SIPLACE Traceability:
1. SIPLACE Traceability on one Computer
This option involves installing all SIPLACE Traceability software components one computer, without
a separate web server. However, the database server can be on a separate computer.
2. SIPLACE Traceability distributed across several computers:
This option involves installing the SIPLACE Traceability software components on multiple comput-
ers, according to your system requirements:
▪ Traceability or Line Computer
The following components need to be installed on this computer:
– SIPLACE Traceability with the components:
Trace Service
– Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 Framework
– Microsoft Internet Explorer
– SIPLACE Pro Client installation (for SPI XML Adapter)
