3.4.2 Tip cleaning module
The central function of the tip cleaning module is the cleaning of the nozzle tip from metallic
residues. The cleaning is done in 2 steps and takes about 5 min.
Nozzle tip cleaning with acidic cleaning solution (90% water / 10% acidic)
Nozzle tip neutralization (demineralized water)

3 Magazine mounted to tip cleaning module
Description and function
For the cleaning the magazine is to be installed onto the tip cleaning module. If the magazine is
properly seated the nozzles are positioned so the nozzle tips dip into tubes on the tip cleaning
module (see picture above and below).
Fig.15: Nozzle position on the tubes
During the cleaning the tubes are flooded with cleaning solution so that the nozzle tip is immersed
in the solution again and again. Following the cleaning the process is repeated using deionized wa-
ter to safely remove any cleaning solution from the nozzle tip.
The chamber at the left can be used to check if liquid is applied and for the adjustment of the flood-
ing to prevent the pipes overflowing.
