680SD Brushless Servo Pump
Overview
Introduction This manual describes how to install, operate and maintain the 680SD Brushless
Servo Pump. The CAMALOT 680 SD Servo Driven Brushless pump is a liquid/semi
liquid, precision dispensing device. It is typically used for encapsulation and underfill
operations. The pump is comprised of servo driven brushless motor, a rotary
leadscrew and cartridge assembly, main body housing with a Luer fitting to except
dispense material syringes.
Theory of Operation Dispensing of material is accomplished by using air pressure to provide a constant
supply of material to the leadscrew. Air pressure is also applied to an integral air
cylinder to raise the leadscrew and open the dispense port, thereby allowing the flow
of material through the needle.
Servo control is used to provide a means of varying the speed of the pump motor. The
motor RPM is programmable and turns on and off under program control. It does not
run continuously.
Control of dispense drip or leaking while the leadscrew is not turning is accomplished
by removing air pressure from the integral cylinder and allowing the leadscrew which
has a machined ball on the end to return from the dispense position, sealing off the
reservoir end of the needle.
