1. Periodic Inspection and Checking
This section describes how to perform lubrication and inspections work to
keep the machine in good working condition. It is recommended that lubrica-
tion and inspections work be performed periodically.
CAUTION
• Only qualified personnel should perform lubrication,
inspections, and cleaning work carefully in compliance
with the specified procedures.
• Be sure to turn off the main power of the machine,
shut off the air source, and lock the main switch with
the padlock before lubrication , inspections, and clean-
ing work.
Refer to “Precautionary Measures in Maintenance and
Inspection Work” for details.
• After cleaning with a rag, take the greatest care not to leave any waste
thread in order to avoid machine failure.
• Wipe off old grease before lubrication. If old grease is left, greasing will
be degraded.
• When air-blow is used to clean, do not blow air onto any unspecified
places. If scattered dirt or dust is accumulated on the various sensors, ball
screws or linear guides, etc., it might cause machine failure.
• If the recognition operation is performed with accumulated dirt and dust
on the protection glass or the teaching plate section of the recognition
camera, it will result in incorrect recognition.
• When a feeder (a tape feeder, a vibratory stick feeder, etc.) is replaced,
check the current feeder condition for damages, cracks, bends, etc. to
avoid breakdown and perform maintenance if necessary.

2. Preparation for Maintenance
2.1 Preparation for Cleaning
Prepare the cleaning tools.
• Brush
Use a brush whose bristles do not come off easily.
• Rag
Use a rag (such as cotton) which produces as little waste thread as possible.
A clean rag should also be prepared, depending on the spots to be cleaned.
• Oiled Rag
Use a rag (such as cotton) which produces as little waste thread as possible,
dampened with grease which is used for lubrication.
Note: Do not apply too much oil to the rag.
The oil should not be mixed with another type.
• Air Gun
Use the one on the market.
• Vacuum Cleaner
Use the one on the market.
Ref.: If the end of the suction mouth is narrowed, some spots can be cleaned
more easily.
• Air Blow for Camera
Use the one on the market.
• Vacuum Filter Replacement Jig
Use the standard accessory parts.
• Container, etc.
Use a container of such capacity that the water does not overflow when the
drain is cleaned.
2.2 Preparation for Lubrication
Prepare the specified grease and lubricating tools.
• The specified grease
(1) Refer to “Grease”.
• The specified lubricating tools
(2) Brush (3) Vinyl gloves (4) Grease applicator (5) Hand grease gun
Refer to “KH120”
(1) Grease
• DAPHNE EPONEX GREASE No.1
• NEW MOLYNOC GREASE No.1
• SILICONE GREASE KS64
