The following presents various functional problems that may be encountered,
the general cause of the problem and the resolution of the problem.

Motion fault on insertion head. Anvil setting too high.
Reset anvil height. Refer to Anvil Height

Cutter backstroke too large.
Reset cutter back stroke. Refer to Cutter
procedure.

Failed/pinched pneumatic lines. Repair or replace faulty pneumatic lines.
Wiring problems. Repair or replace faulty wiring.
Cutter timing stroke greater than 45 msecs.
Check IM Diagnostics Rapid Motion Timing
and adjust to 35-45 msecs.

Clinch Functional Problems
Problem
Sequence of Adjustments
This section describes the sequence of adjustments.
Radial
To make adjustments on the Radial machine, do the following in this order:
1. Chain System – 6 steps
(Refer to the Sequencer section in Maintenance Topics in Voyager)
a. Chain tensioner set @ 1.0 in. compression.
b. Chain deflection within 1.0 – 1.5 in.
c. Align chain/carrier clip to cutter station.
d. Align feeders to carrier clips as needed.
e. Align chain unloader to carrier clip/component.
f. Align verifier test head assembly as needed.
