SIPLACE Wafer System
The new SIPLACE Wafer
System (SWS) provides a
fully automatic wafer and
chip handling system.
The SWS is completely inte-
grated into the locations of
the SIPLACE CA placement
system. Each location can be
equipped with an SWS or an
X table.
The SWS functions like a
feeder for the SIPLACE sys-
tem and transports the dies
from the wafer to a single,
fixed pickup position for the
placement head.
The placement head then
picks up the die from the
SWS tool and places this on
the board, just like in SMD
handling.
The SWS is shown as a spe-
cial feeder type in
SIPLACE Pro. The
SIPLACE CA system is pro-
grammed as usual for the SI-
PLACE X series.
The die handling is pro-
grammed via the SWS GUI.
The main parameters to be
programmed are as follows:
– Wafer and die dimen-
sions
– Die recognition
– Die ejection parameters
– Wafer map system
– Link to the component
programmed in
SIPLACE Pro

Tape Feeder Modules, X-Series (CA Series)
Description
The single-track tape feeder
modules for the X-series pro-
cess paper and blister tapes
from 8 to 88 mm wide. The 8
mm X tape feeder module
feeds the smallest compo-
nents,
such as 01005 components,
for the 20 segment Collect &
Place CA head.
Component tapes with a per-
manently adhesive cover foil
(PSA foil) can be processed
with the PSA kit option.
The transport increment can
be varied over a wide range.
The foil tear-off force can be
set manually on all the feeder
modules.
The X feeder modules are
characterized by their excel-
lent
accuracy of the pickup
position, online and offline
programmability of the
feeder modules and easy
handling that allows the
feeder modules to be quickly
changed during the place-
ment
process.
The multicolor status display
signals the operating
statuses:
green for "standby", orange
for "warning" and red for "er-
ror". Information appears on
the LCD display for "orange"
and "red".
The EDIF unit (energy and
data interface) powers the
feeder module without con-
tact. Communication with the
placement machine also
takes place via this interface.
