1 General
1.1 License Agreement
Warning:
This operating system can only be used for SIPLACE computers (SIPLACE Pro programming
systems) in a workgroup within the SIPLACE net.
This DVD contains the installation software for an adapted operating system for SIPLACE products.
Siemens AG has the sole responsibility for executing this software.
Siemens AG provides support for this product.
1.2 Installation process
This manual describes the Windows Vista unattended setup for SIPLACE Pro system computers in a workgroup.
The unattended setup was developed from Siemens AG to execute a quick, complete and adapted installation
of Windows Vista Business Edition on SIPLACE computers, including the requirements for SIPLACE line products.
The setup can be performed on SIPLACE computer systems with the required configuration as described in
chapter
3.
Since the delivered DVD-ROM is bootable, the installation is automatically started after rebooting the system.
The setup of Windows Vista Business Edition can only be performed in English language.
During the installation, information about the system configuration has to be entered (see chapter „
3.2Required
configuration parameters
“).
Warning:
If you change the hardware configuration radically (e.g. exchange of the mainboard type), a
reinstallation of the unattended setup is required.

2 Scope of delivery
Two different packages are available:
• Software Win Vista Line Level 1.0 - Complete Package with license (Item no. 00386300-xx)
• Software Win Vista Media Package 1.0 – Media Package without license (item no. 00386400-xx)
Both packages contain following:
• Software Windows Vista for machines & SIPLACE Pro:
• Boot DVD-ROM for the operating system Windows Vista
• Installation manual for Windows Vista (unattended setup), Item no. 00196068-xx

3 Requirements
3.1 Hardware
Minimum Hard Disk Capacity:

3.2 Required configuration parameters
For the installation procedure, please note the following information:

4 Hotfixes
The hotfixes for Windows Vista are available on a separate CD.
Apply hotfixes from the latest delivered Windows Vista Hotfix-CD.
