Gantry 1 and 3
Rotated gantry (X4i S)
► Attach the vacuum hoses to the two vacuum pipes for
vacuum connection 1 und 2 (1).
► Connect the two pipes to the distributor for the place-
ment head vacuum (3).
► Fasten the vacuum tube connection 1+2 using the
clamping piece (2), with the help of an M3x30 mm
screw and a washer.

Connecting Transparent Hoses
Standard gantry
Rotated gantry
► Fasten the duo tube connection using two M3x35 mm
screws (1).
► Connect the two transparent hoses to the
connection (2).
► Run the two transparent hoses to the trailing cable.
► Use adhesive to attach a cable clamp (3). Fix the
transparent hoses to the cable clamp with a cable tie.
Make sure that you do not restrict the hose width with
the cable tie.
► Run the hoses next to the guide plate and
upwards (4).
There may be differences here, due to the different
variants of the gantry trailing cable.
NOTICE!
Use cable ties to fasten the hoses where necessary.
Make sure that you do not restrict the hose width with the
cable tie.
► Connect the two transparent hoses to the
connection (5).

Prefitting the Vacuum Pump
Before the pump can be fitted, it needs to be prepared. This preparation work covers the following tasks:
▪ "3.2.5.1 Closing the Opening Mechanism" [ ➙ 92]
▪ "3.2.5.2 Connecting the Power cable" [ ➙ 93]
▪ "3.2.5.3 Fitting and Positioning the Filter" [ ➙ 94]
▪ "3.2.5.4 Preparing the Distributor Block" [ ➙ 96]

CAUTION
Lifting the vacuum pump
► When lifting the vacuum pump, always take hold of its base. As its center of gravity is above
this base, parts of the pump could be pulled off if you take hold of it elsewhere.
► Never lift the vacuum pump by its front plate! The front plate of the vacuum pump is only
fixed with rubber buffers. Take care not to damage the rubber buffers.

NOTICE
Clean the parts if necessary
► If the vacuum pump has previously been fitted in a machine, clean it before fitting all vacu-
um-conducting parts to remove any existing contaminants e.g. Loctite residues.
1. Sealing plugs
2. Sealing ring
3. Opening mechanism
► If not prefitted, position the sealing ring (2) on the
sealing screw (R3/4 St+NBR) [03004775-xx] (1) and
screw both into the opening on the top of the pump
(3).
If there is no sealing ring available, first apply Loctite
55 onto the threaded connection as a sealant.
