1. Outline of Maintenance
This session describes how to perform inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and
adjustment to keep the machine in good shape.
Be sure to periodically perform the maintenance tasks to keep the machine in
good shape.
1.1 Precautionary Items before Maintenance
WARNING
Only a well-trained service person should perform
maintenancetaskscarefullythroughthespecied
procedures.
Before maintenance work, set the power breaker of
the machine (SIGMA-G4/G5) to "OFF" and lock it
with the padlock.
Designate a person who can have charge of the
padlock key.
If the provided padlock is lost or damaged, purchase
its substitute.
CAUTION
Residual voltages may remain behind for a few
minutes in the internal devices of the machine after
power interception.
Before performing maintenance work, wait until the charge
lamps of the dc power supply and the servo amplier go
"OFF" in 10 minutes or more after the power breaker is set
to "OFF.
Note
Preliminary preparation is required for some maintenance tasks with the power
being supplied.
Check each maintenance method.

1.2.1 Preparation for Cleaning
Prepare the following items.

Rag
Use a rag made of such material as cotton, etc., that produces as less waste
thread as possible.
Notice
The remaining waste thread if any will cause the machine to break down.

Oiled Rag
Use a rag made of such material as cotton, etc., that produces as less waste
thread as possible.
Too much grease should not be applied and any different type of grease should
not be mixed into the specied one.
