5.3.6.3 Automatic rejection of the changes
It is possible to bypass the Clearing Pool and automatically reject objects changed on the lines
without the data preparation engineer inspecting the data. The changes are rejected without being
saved.

5.3.6.4 Email configuration
EDM email notification uses SMTP to distribute notifications arriving at the Master Server. The
following must be configured:
● The network address of the SMTP server
● The sender to be entered in the message
● A set of distribution lists
Email distribution lists make it possible to keep email traffic to a minimum and to send the emails to
precisely the person(s) responsible. A distribution list only responds to notifications from a specific
line which contain changes to specific object types.
The storage location of the configuration file should be specified for informational purposes and
must not be changed. Direct manipulation of the configuration file should be avoided.
Setting up a new list
A line must be selected before a new distribution list can be added. A name and a comment are
assigned to each new list.

Configuring a list
After a distribution list has been selected, the email addresses of the recipients and the object
types or EDM events monitored by the list can be entered. All recipients on the distribution list
receive emails regarding notifications which refer to one of the selected object types. Only those
notifications are taken into account that originate from the line for which the distribution list was
created.

If the recipients are to be notified about Forced Pull events, this event must be selected in the
EDM Events tab.
General distribution list
The general distribution list reacts to notifications from all lines simultaneously, but is otherwise the
same as normal distribution lists.

5.3.7 Configuration Status Monitor
The Configuration Status tab gives some information about the status of the EDM Client
computers (upper pane) and their EDM applications (lower pane).
5.3.7.1 Changing the Configuration Server of one EDM Client
In order to make an EDM Server get its configuration set from another Configuration Server, these
steps are required:
1. Open the Configuration Status tab of the Configuration GUI on the old Configuration
Server and click the Update button.
2. For each EDM computer in the list of computers (you may select multiple lines at once),
open the context menu and select “Assign new configuration server”
3. In the text box, change the hostname part of the URI to match the new configuration server
4. On the new configuration server, type-in the appropriate settings for the EDM Client’s alias
and host name.
