CAUTION!
Before checking or replacing the compressed air filters,
you need to shut off the supply of air!
► Open the cover (1) on the pneumatic system.
► Push the lever (2) for the compressed air supply
back, until it is positioned horizontally.
► All manometers must be set to zero.
► Push the yellow lock (3) on the black protective cap
up. Twist off the protective cap.
► Press the glass tube (1) upwards and unscrew it.
► Unscrew the filter (2).
► Pull out the filter for the compressed air maintenance
unit and check for dirt.
► Replace the filter if it is dirty. (filter element 5 µm
[00355386-xx])
► Installation is performed by following the above in-
structions in the reverse order.
► Unscrew the head exhaust air filter. Clean it with a
compressed air device or replace the filter if heavily
soiled. (filter element 40 μm [03003717-xx])

5.2.2.4 Cleaning the Protective Covers
Cleaning the Protective Covers
CAUTION
ESD coating
► The choice of cleaning agent for the protective covers must be made with particular care so
as not to damage the ESD coating on the protective covers! Never use acid or strong alka-
line agents and avoid all ketones, esters, aromatics, halogenated hydrocarbons, etheric oils
or similar.
► Only apply light pressure as you clean the protective covers so as not to damage the ESD
coating!
► Check the protective covers for dirt.
► Clean them with a dry, lint-free cloth, if required.
► If they are very dirty, use a lint-free cloth and a small
amount of a neutral or slightly alkaline cleaning
agent.
► After cleaning, wipe over with fresh water.

Checking/Cleaning/Replacing the Gas Pressure Shock Absorbers on the Protective Covers
► Open the protective covers.
► Wipe the sliding surfaces of the gas pressure shock
absorbers clean with a lint-free cloth.
► Open and close the cover several times in succes-
sion.
► No oil should be visible on the piston. Otherwise, the
gas pressure shock absorbers must be replaced by
authorized personnel. For removal and installation
details, read the service manual for your machine.
► Open the protective cover.
► Pull the protective cover approx. 30 cm horizontally
towards you and then release it again.
If the cover does not open completely again, the gas
pressure shock absorbers must be replaced by au-
thorized personnel.
For removal and installation details, refer to the ser-
vice manual for your machine.
► Pull the protective cover vertically to a position be-
tween the top and bottom positions and then release
it again.
The cover must either stay in position without help or
open a bit further. If it closes on its own, the gas pres-
sure shock absorbers must be replaced by author-
ized personnel.
For removal and installation details, read the service
manual for your machine.
► Close the protective cover.
► Repeat these steps for all protective covers.
