7. Copy Files, Start Post-Installation Tasks
To copy the files, do the following:
1. Select Next to begin the process of copying the operating system files
onto the hard drive.
It will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes for all the files to be
copied. This process is automatic and can be left unattended until it has
completed.
• During this time the system will reboot twice. Although a screen is
displayed before each reboot, no action is required.
• After each reboot, another screen displays asking if the system
should boot from the hard disk or the CD-ROM. Always allow the
system to boot from the hard disk.
• After the automated process completes, the system will boot to the
desktop, and the Post-Installation Tasks screen displays.
2. Continue with the next procedure.
8. Set Up Screen Resolution
To set up the screen resolution, do the following:
1. Select the Screen tab.
2. Select the Screen button. This will cause a secondary Screen dialog to
be displayed.
The Screen dialog displays different depending on which video driver
is in use; this does not matter.
3. Select the Resolution field, and select 1024x768.
4. Select the Colors field, and select 64K.
9. Disable ePager
To disable ePager, do the following:
1. Select the ePager tab in the Screen dialog.
2. Use the mouse to stretch the top of this dialog upward so all the options
are visible.
3. Remove the X from the Enable check box.

4. Select the round X at the upper right of the Screen dialog.
5. Select the Exit button at the lower left of the main Post-Installation
Tasks dialog.
A command window displays briefly; wait until it closes.
10. Remove Installation Disc
This completes the basic process of installing eComStation 2.2 on the system.
Remove the eComStation disc from the drive.
11. Set Up Desktop Properties
This procedure configures the desktop settings.
1. Right-click an empty area of the desktop.
2. Choose Properties from the pop-up menu that displays. The Desktop
dialog displays with a row of tabs at the top.
3. Select the eShutdown tab.
4. Select the Power-off computer check box, and remove the X.
5. Select the Animation before shutdown check box, and remove the X.
6. Select the Screen Saver tab.
7. Use the mouse to stretch the dialog a bit higher at the top so all the
options can be seen.
8. Select the Screen saving enabled check box, and remove the X.
9. Select the round X at the upper right of the Desktop dialog to close the
window.
12. Remove Reserved Drive Letter
To remove the reserved drive letter, do the following:
1. Go to the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, and select the
Command Prompts icon.
2. Type e config.sys, and press Enter.
A text editing window displays showing the contents of the
“config.sys” file.

3. Type Ctrl+F; a Find dialog displays.
4. Type reserv in the Find dialog.
5. Press Enter or select Find. The editor will find a particular line in the
“config.sys” file that needs to be changed.
6. Press the Esc key to dismiss the Find dialog.
7. Press the Home key to move the cursor to the start of the line in the
file.
8. Type the letters rem followed by a space.
9. Select Save from the File menu.
10. Select Exit from the File menu. The Command Prompt Window
displays again.
11. Type Exit, and press Enter to close this function.
13. Delete Unused Desktop Widgets
The next task is to remove all the “widgets” from the bottom of the screen.
1. Right-click on each of the following widgets, and select Delete
Widget.
2. Right-click on the empty space in the right side of the bar of these
widgets:
3. Select Delete Widget.
4. Select Yes to confirm.
