Configuring the PDA
After the PDA client has been installed on the PC, the PDA has to be configured.
Start screen on the PDA
The start screen of the Material Manager is displayed.
► Click on Menu.
Displaying menu entries
The menu entries are displayed.
► Select the IPConfig menu entry.

Entering IP address
The IP address of the server on which the SIPLACE Material Manager is installed has to be entered in
this dialog box.
► Enter the IP address in the IP-Address input box.
The Port Number is preset. If this has to be changed, ask your system administrator for the value to be
entered.
► Click on the OK button.

If a new version of the PDA client software gets installed on the PC, the installation program detects
whether a previous version has already been installed.
In this case, the following message is displayed.
Previous version present
► Click on Yes to remove the previous and install the new version.
The following message is displayed on the PDA:

► Click on OK to remove the previous and install the new version.

4.4 Configuring the 2D Scanner
Configuring the 2D Scanner
In this section you find a short description of the software configuration of the PowerScan M8500 2D
scanner from the DATALOGIC company.
This 2D scanner is required to read the 2D barcodes that are located on the various material containers.
In the Material Manager, the scanner is used for the Identify Incoming Material function in the Material
Receipt area.
► Start the ALADDIN software.
► Configure the scanner and the cradle as displayed in the following dialogs.
