Operation of the Feeder
2.1.3. Installing the component tape and Exit of the carrier tape
Pass the tape through groove A, B, C as shown in the figure below.

The tape consists of two parts, the upper cover tape and the carrier tape.

After passing the upper tape and transportation tape between the tape guide slot and main
frame as shown in the figure, strip off about 30cm of the upper cover tape from the end,
Strip off about 35cm of the upper cover tape from the end, and pass it through the tape slit
as shown in the figure. Pass the carrier tape through groove D.
Caution When the distance from the end of the feeding tape to the
pickup position is short, the tape may get caught. Therefore,
ensure that the distance is sufficiently long before use.

The transfer tape that has passed ‘D’comes out of the feeder downward as shown in the
following figure.
Caution When a tape reel keeping the parts that generate static
electricity is installed in the tape feeder or when parts are
attached to the upper cover tape, installing the tape reel in
the tape feeder by passing the upper cover tape through the
rear slit of the tape guide may cause damage to parts. Pass
the upper cover tape through the front slit of the tape guide
without fail and install the tape reel in the tape feeder.

Caution In the case of 0402 parts, the tape must be installed in the
feeder through the front slit.
When installing the tape for 0603 parts through the front slit,
use parts that are free of static electricity.
If a part has static electricity, it may cause a pickup error
due to static electricity during its supply.
