2.3. Feeder Installation

2.3.1. Cautions before installing the feeder

Before installing a tape feeder on the feeder base, check the following:

Warning When installing the tape feeder, check whether the machine

is in the 'IDLE' state. Otherwise, the user may be seriously

injured.

Caution Since the tape feeder is heavy, transport it holding its handle and

installation guide with both hands.

 When installing a tape feeder on the feeder base, exercise care so

that the items of clothing do not become jammed.

 Ensure that foreign materials do not exist on the location flange

and Prob Pin.

 In the case of the SME 12~88mm feeder, it is recommended that

more than two persons transport it.

2.3.2. Feeder installation procedure

Each slot of the feeder base has its own slot number. Before installing the tape feeder,

check the number of the slot in which the feeder is to be installed.

Install the tape feeder on the feeder base in the following manner:

1) Holding the tape feeder as shown in the following figure, push the tape feeder in

slowly until the install guide of the tape feeder comes into contact with the vertical

plate of the feeder base:

2) Secure the tape feeder to the feeder base completely by pushing the clamp lever of the

tape feeder forward as shown in the following figure:

Operation of the Feeder

CautionWhen securing the feeder on the feeder base while pushing the

clamp lever, if the clamp lever movement is not smooth but stiff,

check whether foreign materials are jammed between the feeder

base slot and the tape feeder. Only when there is no problem,

secure the tape feeder on the feeder base.

When installing the tape feeder in the feeder base, exercise care so

that impact is not imposed on the tape feeder. A part feeding error

may occur.
