5.6 New Functions in 407.03
Software version 407.03 is based on Version 407.02 and comprises all the functions and error corrections
for this version together with the service packs created for Version 407.02. Version 407.03 of the software
also incorporates the following new features and changes:
• Windows XP operating system for the station computer
• Support for Traceability SOKO "Threshold value and activation"
• Maintenance tasks and elimination of errors
5.6.1 Windows XP operating system for the station computer
Version 407.03 makes it possible to use the Windows XP operating system for SIPLACE machines. This
takes the constantly changing state of hardware into account. Of course, the Windows NT 4.0 operating
system that was previously used is still fully supported.
Operation of the station is identical for both operating systems. There are some minor changes with regard
to installing the station software; these are dealt with in the section
9.3.
The only difference to Version 407.02 is that the operating system uses a different mandatory screen
resolution of 800 * 600 (previously 640 * 480). On older monitors this can lead to a bad picture quality. In this
case it is recommended to exchange the monitors.
5.6.2 Software support for the "Threshold value and activation" Special Design
Version 407.03 supports the "Traceability SUA" special design. This enables traceability to be enabled for
selected components. Interface definitions, prerequisites for the special design and operation are described
in the 407.02 Traceability Manual.

Changes to the Traceability option in connection with the station software "Traceability SUA" special design:
• The previous threshold value "Components" on the component level indicator has been replaced with
"Remaining length in mm". This deactivates the relevant track as soon as the remaining length of the
tape (measured from the pickup position) falls below the threshold. Since a feeder has a length of
approximately 500 mm, the threshold values should accordingly be set higher than this value.
Caution: The threshold value "Remaining length in mm" may only be activated
when the Traceability option is installed.

• It is now possible to activate deactivated feeder tracks by clicking on the button "Selected track" in the
empty feeders view. The action is checked by the traceability function and if necessary the feeder track
is deactivated again. Traceability must be active and SMV must be configured to enable this. This
feature is selectable.
• Writing to the traceability file on the host system has been improved.
• The subpanel name is listed in the traceability file. (only in connection with the "lange Bpos" LR special
design. Caution: GEM is no longer supported in this context.)
• The placement position comment is listed in the Traceability file. This feature is selectable.
• A batch change is carried out on surf tape feeders without any transition area (only in conjunction with
SMV). This type of batch change is only valid for surf tape feeders that have become empty. Therefore,
these feeders are no longer monitored by the component level indicator facility and no longer appear
there. This feature is selectable.
• Traceability without PCB barcode readers. If no PCB barcode reader has been configured, a PCB
barcode does not have to be entered manually. "NoPCBBC_x" is used as a replacement to the barcode,
where x is the internal sequence number of the PCB. This feature is selectable.
• If the station name on the station is empty, the IP address (of SrHost) of the station is written to the
traceability file instead.
• A triple splice sensor can be used for a dual conveyor.

5.7 New Functions in 407.02
Version 407.02 of the software is based on version 407.01 and incorporates all the functions and bugfixes of
version 407.01 and its service packs. Version 407.02 of the software also incorporates the following new
features and changes:
• A Polish user interface
• Integration of the "track empty max." special design
• Support for the "high components" special design
• Support for the "traceability" special design
• Support for the "2D barcode" special design
• Revision of the user interface and improved fiducial and ink spot recognition
• Maintenance and error elimination
5.7.1 Polish User Interface
As of version 407.02, the user interface offers Polish in addition to the languages that have been
available up to now.
5.7.2 Support for the "Traceability" Special Design
Version 407.02 supports the "traceability" special design. Traceability can thus be achieved for selected
components. The definition of the interfaces, the prerequisites for the special design and the handling are
described in the Traceability manual.

5.7.3 Software Support for the "2D Barcode" Special Design
Version 407.02 supports Omnitron 2D barcode readers.
However, the following restrictions continue to apply:
Length of the barcodes: max. 25 characters
PCB barcode operation continues to be supported only for a single conveyor.
