4 Requirements
The following operating system must be installed on the station computer to ensure that the station software
can be installed and will function correctly:
Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 and Microsoft Security Patch for Windows NT 4.0 (see
9.1.1) or
Windows XP with ServicePack 2
Attention:
Please make sure that only the Siemens XP Professional Service Pack 2 is installed. The
modified Siemens XP Professional Service Pack 2 is based on Mircrosoft Windows XP Service
Pack 2. Please make sure that never the Mircrosoft XP Professional Service Pack 2 is
installed.
No software or hardware products may be installed on the computer which are not compatible
with Windows XP SP2 (for details, refer to the relevant information from the vendor and to the
Microsoft website
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130).
For details on the SIPLACE products, contact your SIPLACE representative.
If you encounter problems during installation or if the software does not operate correctly, please check
whether Service Pack 5 is installed. The installed Service Pack is indicated during the operating system boot
sequence.
For the troublefree functioning of the station software, it is prerequisite that the other machine components
be equipped with the following versions:
