9.2.2 SIPLACE S23 and SIPLACE F5HM
9.2.2.1 Configuration of M54-BIOS
For the M54 of the SIPLACE S23 and SIPLACE F5HM, the correct BIOS settings have to be made prior to
the initial installation of the operating system. The same applies in the case of data loss in CMOS-RAM.
The settings can be made either manually or by means of the configuration program supplied.
9.2.2.1.1 BIOS Configuration Program
The settings in the BIOS of the M54 can be carried out by means of the supplied configuration program. To
this end, place the diskette with the configuration program in the disk drive of the machine controller and turn
on the machine. Similar to the manual configuration, call up the Setup of BIOS and check the following
settings:
• Floppy Disk/Drive A: 1.44MByte
• Boot Features/Boot Sequence: A:, C:
Exit from the BIOS Setup and save the changes. Subsequently, the configuration program is started up.
When the DOS prompts A:\ appears, the configuration is finished.
A copy of the diskette is also contained on the station software CD in the directory
sip_mc\80S23\FD_image.RM3. The diskette can be created on any PC running under Windows-NT, e.g. the
station computer. To this end, start mcbios.exe and follow the directions.
With this kind of configuration, the values are held in the flash ROM of the BIOS so that in the event of a data
loss in the CMOS-RAM of the BIOS the correct values are set as default.
