3 Upgrade to the 604.xx software version
When upgrading to the 604.xx software version, please consider following:
- Fix the temperature warning labels (03031926-01 supplied in the standard package Software SIPLACE
Station 604.01 (item number: 00385500-01)) at the C&P20 head (see the figure).
- After an upgrade to the 604.xx software version, calibrate the heads of the D1, D2 and D4 machines.
The temperature compensation is activated for these machines.
- After installing the 604 software version, please update the X feeder eSW version.

3.1 Upgrade packages and components for upgrading from Version 603.x
Caution:
For upgrading to the software version 604.x on the SIMATIC BoxPC 627, please consider the
installation manual in hand “Windows Embedded XP operating system for the MC German and
English”.
It is not necessary to install the Windows embedded XP operating system for the other
machines.
No further upgrade packages or components are required.
3.2 Upgrade packages and components for upgrading from Version 601.x
or 602.x
Caution:
For upgrading to the software version 604.x, please consider the installation manual in hand
“Windows Embedded XP operating system for the MC German and English”.
The following upgrade packages for SIPLACE X4, X2 and X3 machines with CPU 076 are required:
- Upgrade package for SIPLACE X4 with CPU 076 Æ Computer upgrade to CPU 086

- Upgrade package for SIPLACE X2 and X3 with CPU 076 Æ 128 MB memory expansion

4 Prerequisites for installation
4.1 Software components
- Standard package Software SIPLACE Station as of version 603.01 or later
SC 603.01 (item number: 00383500-xx)
SC 604.01 (item number: 00385500-01)
- Hardware components (see section
4.2)
Caution:
Before installing the operation system on the machine controller, ensure that the network cable is
connected to the station computer and the network connection is working.
