1.4 Staff Qualifications and Training
Qualified or adequately trained personnel means that these people are familiar with the setting up,
operation and maintenance of automatic placement systems and add-on devices and are suitably
qualified, e.g.:
● Have been trained, instructed or authorized to switch on and off, isolate, earth and identify
electrical circuits and system components in accordance with normal safety standards.
● Have been trained or instructed in the upkeep and use of appropriate safety equipment in
accordance with normal safety standards.
● Have received first aid training.

2 System Requirements and Compatibility
The following requirements and compatibility apply for the SIPLACE BulkFeeder X:

● A separate SIPLACE Vision computer is required for each placement machine. This is a
427d I7 computer equipped with a 4x GigE interface card and the cabling to connect the
SIPLACE BulkFeeder X and the computer.
The SIPLACE Vision software for the SIPLACE BulkFeeder X has to be installed on the
SIPLACE Vision computer. Information can be found in the Station Software Installation
Manual, item no.: [00198001-xx]
● Software requirements:
Station software: Version 710.1 or higher
SIPLACE Pro: Version 14.1 or higher
ASM Setup Center: Version 9.1 or higher
● Supported tables: COT60 and COT40
The SIPLACE BulkFeeder X is designed as a standard X-Feeder and occupies 3 tracks.
Therefore, it can be set up on every changeover table, docking station or other tools designed
for X-Feeders.
● Supported placement heads: C&P20 A, C&P20 P
2.1 Restrictions
– COT30 table is not supported.
– X-series placement machines with hardware ID < 6 of the FCU are not supported. However,
with the Upgrade Kit (DTC FCU) it is possible to upgrade the machine to ID >=6.
– No combination with MTC / WPC / linear feeders / stick feeders at one table.
– Station software 60x is not supported.
– No combination with the Coplan option.

3 SIPLACE BulkFeeder X – Functionality
The SIPLACE Bulkfeeder X [00141630-xx] consists of the following two main modules:
● SIPLACE BulkFeeder X Base Unit, item no: [00141600-xx]
● SIPLACE BulkFeeder X Cartridge, item no: [00141602-xx]
In the following, these modules are referred to as Base Unit and Cartridge respectively.
3.1 Base Unit

The Base Unit of the SIPLACE BulkFeeder X looks similar to an SmartFeeder X and is just as easy
to install on the feeder table.
The Base Unit carries all active parts like optics, mechanics and electronics and occupies 3 tracks.
It has an EDIF (energy and data interface) on the 1

track and a second light conductor on the 3
rd
track. Additionally, it is equipped with a connector for the camera cable.
