2.1 Functional principle
The Cognex scanner enables to scan the 1D / 2D barcode on the PCB and sends it to the con-
veyor control unit for evaluation. 2
2.2 Requirements
For SIPLACE HS-50: 2

2.3 Restrictions
– The PCB barcode has to be placed on the first 15-22 cm of the PCB. The maximum scanning
range is arround 22 cm depending on the set scanning frequency.
– The barcode should have the same size.
– The exposure time has to be set up by the operator software of the scanner.
– The upper barcode has to be placed at least 3 mm from the side edge of the PCB.
– The lower barcode has to be placed at least 5 mm from the side edge of the PCB.
– Only the barcode on one side can be scanned at once.
– The common restrictions for PCB barcodes at SIPLACE machines still apply.
