2.8 Setup of the Cognex scanner
: Shut down the machine and switch it off at the main switch.
: Disconnect the interface cable from the relevant scanner and from the barcode manifold.

If the adapter cable is connect directly to the interface cable, the scanner can be damaged.2

nection on the barcode manifold.

If the scanner is operated by the I/O-Box and connected with the software, an error message
caused by a runtime error of the RS 232 interface will appear on the station computer.
Disconnect the scanner from the computer after completion of the settings. 2

: Switch on the machine.
: Connect the second end of the USB cable with a computer on which the program for the scan-
ner software is installed. The program “DataMan 3.x Software” can be installed from the CD or
downloaded at http://www.cognex.com. Please follow the instructions.
