PRESI machine maintenance

In order to maintain the performance of your machine, we suggest that you clean it on a regular basis (see

below). Non-compliance with this instruction can lead to material damage which cannot be covered by the

warranty.

The instructions for cleaning your machine are provided in the cleaning chapter of these instructions.

Daily cleaning

We recommend cleaning the machine's work area every day, as well as the filter of the pump tray if your

machine has one.

Likewise, the area around the machine must be kept in a suitably clean condition.

Weekly cleaning

A thorough cleaning of your machine every week is necessary in order to prevent any agglomerate of cut

material, dried mud or dust. Material agglomeration can result in material damage.

If your machine has one, you must check the pump tray. You must, first of all, check the general condition of

the filter, and clean it or replace it if necessary. The fluid level must also be checked; if the latter is too low

more fluid must be added in order to reach the recommended level. When adding fluid, use only PRESI rust

preventive additive prepared according to the product instructions.

Monthly maintenance

If your machine has a tray, you must empty it once a month and not forget to add PRESI rust preventive

additive the next time the machine is used

Non-use of the machine

If your machine has a cover, when it is not being used and when it contains a fluid, the machine must remain

with its cover open in order to prevent condensation from forming.

You can store the machine with its cover closed as long as it is drained of any fluid and dried beforehand.

Warranties

PRESI machines are guaranteed 1 year for parts and labour (except for wearing parts), transport to the

workshop, under normal conditions of use with PRESI brand products and in the framework of regular

maintenance. The warranty does not cover repair due to:

- incorrect use of a piece of equipment,

- normal wear of the machine and its components,

- lack of maintenance and/or upkeep,

- any intervention for which authorisation has not been obtained in writing from PRESI.

Signs in the instructions

Sign panels are placed in the instructions when there is a risk for the operator or of a deterioration of the

machine. These are qualified as follows:

Non-compliance with the indicator exposes the operator to a risk of serious injury. Comply

scrupulously with the rules that accompany this symbol.

DANGER

Non-compliance with this indicator can result in slight injury or material damage. Comply

scrupulously with the rules that accompany this symbol.

WARNING

This sign panel is present whenever a specific procedure concerning the use, instructions and

indicator lights is necessary as well as for any preventive operation on the machine.

PRECAUTION

Always comply with the instructions that accompany these signs. In addition to the safety rules issued in this

manual, it is important to always follow the general instructions concerning safety and accident prevention.

Signs affixed to the machine

A sign is attached to your machine if it has a residual risk or trapdoors that can still give access to a dangerous

area.

This pictogram indicates danger pertaining to electricity. The maintenance trapdoors that

give access to the machine's electronic and electrical components are indicated in this way.

This pictogram indicates a hot or burning area that is accessible.

This pictogram indicates a residual risk of crushing.

This pictogram indicates the use of a laser light source.

Basic safety instructions

 Before any maintenance operation, it must be made certain that no function of the

machine can be activated inadvertently.

 Any intervention concerning the electrical system must be performed only by a

specialist.

 It is formally prohibited to remove or in any way deactivate a safety feature. If the

removable or deactivation is indispensable in order to perform a maintenance operation,

the latter must be put back into service as soon as the maintenance operation is complete.

 Any work on the electrical system must be performed by a specialist.

 Before opening the electrical cabinet, unplug the machine.

 Before manipulating the electrical or control system, unplug the machine.

 After any electrical intervention, check the earth.

 The machine's electrical equipment must be inspected on a regular basis. Defects such as bad

connections, exposed wires, etc. must be repaired immediately.

 The local standards in effect in the country of use must be complied with.

 Use only original fuses with the correct amperage.

 A PRESI machine must be used and maintained by authorised personnel who are

trained for this purpose. These people will have been informed of all of the possible risks.

 Responsibilities concerning the settings, use and maintenance of this machine must

be defined clearly with the purpose of preventing any inadequate manoeuvre.

 The employer must ensure that no unauthorised employee uses the machine.

 The operator has to check the machine at least once a day in order to ensure that no

outside damage has appeared. In the event of any notable change, he must inform the department

involved and/or PRESI after-sales service.

 The operator must make sure, according to the current rules and directives, that the environment around

the machine is clean and healthy.

 Use only PRESI approved and tested cut-off wheels.
