3.1. Frequent inspection
Before using the tape feeder, check the following items that directly affect the part feeding
position frequently.
Inspection Item Measures
Tape guide deformation. If deformed, replace the tape guide.
When installing feeder on the feeder
base, the clamp lever does not turn or
requires great force.
If there are foreign materials on the
feeder base, remove them. If the feeder
is not inserted since the location pin at
the front of the feeder is stuck, replace
the location pin.
When installing the feeder on the
feeder base, the clamp lever feels
loose.
If the clamp link is deformed, replace it.
Existence of a loose part with a
loosened bolt.

Secure the bolts tightly using the
corresponding tool.
Existence of foreign materials on the
vinyl slit and bottom surface of the tape

3.1.1. Cautions related to the maintenance of the Tape feeder
For the Tape feeder, it is not recommended to lubricate and check the inside of the cover.
For the Tape feeder feeding 0603 chips, if it is disassembled without authorization, a
problem may occur with the feeder operation due to foreign materials such as fine chips
which enter the feeder. Contamination of the sprocket and sensor by lubricant may cause
defective feeder operation or a reduction of feeding accuracy.
Caution Do not remove the cover as indicated in the following figure.
