3 Important Information When Upgrading from
Station Software Versions as of 60x
The 70x station software version was completely reengineered with an increased placement
performance and improved usability. Hence, there is no previous version.
During the revision of the software it is aimed that the operator can upgrade to the new station
software without any problems. To make easier the introduction to the new station software
version, the most important changes are summarized in the following sections.
3.1 New Concept for Operating – New User Interface
The concept for operating the 70x station software version was completely revised and redesigned.
The GUI of the new software version is operated task-orientated while in previous software
versions the GUI was based on functions by using menus.
The icons, buttons and views are highlighted in different colors, e.g. if an operator action is needed.
The touch screen acts as the standard input tool for operating the station software. All functions
can be accessed via the touch screen. The keyboard and the mouse pad are still available.
The main view "Production" is displayed in the following figure:

NOTICE
An overview for operating the station software is given in the "Getting Started" manual for
the 701.02 version, item no. [00195685-02]. There, you can also find examples to some
functions.
Detailed information on special functions can be found in the online help of the station
software.
3.2 Behavior of the Machine Start Key
In the 70x station software version the behavior of the start key can be set:
The following settings are available:
Start production automatically (Default)
If the start key is pressed, the production is started automatically.
Do not change production status (e.g. for testing the machine)
If the start key is pressed, the circuit is closed, but the production is not directly started.
NOTICE
The machine functions can be started directly via the GUI, irrespective of the start key
mode. If the circuit is already closed, no further confirmation via the start key of the
machine is required.
For further information on the start key behavior, see the online help of the station
software.
3.3 SITEST Functions
SITEST is no more available as a separate tool. The SITEST functions are implemented in the 70x
station software, if the Machine Service activity level is activated.
3.4 Calibrating the Machine
As of the 70x station software version the machine can be calibrated with minimal operator
interaction.
First select all calibration steps to be processed. Then change the settings using the software
wizard. Afterwards you start the calibration without any further user intervention.
