6. The nozzle check operation commences when the START but-
ton is pressed.
Notes: 1. Refer to the CP-842E/842ME System Reference manual for details
on nozzle check measurement.
2. Even when the above operation is not carried out, if the nozzle settings
for the current program differ from the nozzle settings of the program
used in production to that point, the differences in the nozzle settings
will be displayed and the nozzle check command will be entered auto-
matically at the time that automatic or step operation is entered. This
is referred to as the compulsory nozzle check function. Note however
that compulsory nozzle check may not function depending on the
Proper data setting.
Parts Set Check
Even after parts have been set on the machine, production cannot actually be
entered until the command used to verify that all parts have been set in the cor-
rect device slots has been executed. This function is referred to as device
check.
Procedure
1. Select [Device Check] from the [Changeover] section at the
[Main] screen.
2.
Verify that the device for a part with an [Unchecked] status is
properly set in the device slot, then select that part’s display.
3. Press [Set Devices] at the [Check] item.
The “Unchecked” status changes to a “Parts Available” status.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 above until a “Parts Available” status
exists for all devices which are to be used in production.
Notes: 1. As an alternative to the above procedure, all parts devices can be
checked in a single operation by using the following commands:
[Select All] - [Set Devices]
2. Refer to the CP-842E/842ME System Reference manual for details on
device check measurement.
3. Even when the above operation is not carried out, if the parts settings

With the necessary checks complete, production can now commence. Either
the auto operation or step operation mode must be used to operate the machine
and place parts on a panel. Rather than directly entering auto operation, it is
best to use the step operation mode to operate the machine one cycle at a time
for several cycles to check that parts are being placed correctly on the panel.
If there are no problems then enter auto operation at that time.
Step Operation
Procedure
1. Select [Production] at the [Main] screen.
2. Select [Step] from the [Production Mode] section.
3.
Press the START button.
Notes: 1. If the nozzle check display appears on the operation panel, replace the
nozzle following the procedure given in section 3-5 Nozzle
Replacement. Once this is done make the necessary preparations in
accordance with the procedure outlined in Nozzle set check given in
this section and then enter Step operation.
2. If the device check display appears on the operation panel, follow the
procedure in Parts Set Check in section 4-1 to make the necessary
preparations and then enter Step operation.
