(22) Detach the master tapes rst, then the tape feeder from the jig. Now, the
measurement is completed.
To measure another feeder (same model) subsequently, follow the proce-
dures starting with the master tape setting described in (5).
To measure another feeder (different model), follow the procedures start-
ing with the program change described in (3).
CAUTION
If you detach the tape feeder with the master tapes
being attached from the jig, you may cut your nger
with sharp edges of the master tapes or damage the
tapes by bending the master tapes, etc.
Be sure to detach the master tapes rst, then the
tape feeder from the jig.

2.1 Attachment and Detachment of Master Tapes

details.
2.1.1 Attachment of Master Tape(s)
Procedure
(1) While slightly pushing down the suppressor end(s) of the tape feeder
with your nger, press the lower area of the end hook and lift up the
suppressor(s).
(2) Conrm that no foreign substances (chip components
, dirt, dust, etc.)
adheres to the chute surfaces and the underside(s) of the suppressor(s).
Notice
When the master tapes are attached with some foreign substances being
adhered, the suppressors and master tapes may be deformed, causing
an inaccurate measurement of the pickup position.
(3) Insert the master tape(s) from the end of the tape feeder as shown in the
photos below.
In the case of "8 mm Tape Feeder", insert the master tapes while slightly
pushing down the ends of the suppressors.

the suppressors.
Insert the tape up to the first
curving portion of the chute.
2) Insert the tapes up to
the end of the tape
discharge guide.
For 8 mm Tape Feeder

(4) Attach the master tape(s) to the chute section so that the tape feed holes
can be engaged properly with the sprocket pins.
(5) Conrm that no foreign substances (chip components
, dirt, dust, etc.)
are scattered on the master tape(s).
(6) Slowly push down the suppressor(s).

(7) Push down the upper area of the end hook with the suppressor(s) being
lowered and secure the suppressor(s).

2.1.2 Detachment of Master Tape(s)
Procedure
(1) While slightly pushing down the suppressor end(s) of the tape feeder
with your nger, press the lower area of the end hook and lift up the
suppressor(s).
(2) Pull out the master tape(s).
(3)
Slowly lower the suppressor(s).
(4) Push down the upper area of the end hook with the suppressor(s) being
lowered and secure the suppressor(s).
CAUTION
The master tapes are made of a thin metal. Carefully
handle the tapes to avoid cutting your nger with the
tape edges.
