7 Uninstalling
7.1 Backup configuration files
Copy all
.xml
files from the
\Program Files\Siemens SIPLACE\Setup Center
directory to a save
location.
It is recommended that the unsupported tool "Configuration backup and recovery" is used to back up the
SIPLACE Setup Center configuration before uninstalling the software.
7.2 Uninstalling Setup Center GUI
Uninstalling SIPLACE Setup Center deletes all SIPLACE Setup Center software components from the
system except for the SIPLACE Setup Center database.
The SIPLACE Setup Center database is not uninstalled automatically in order to prevent possible data
loss.
Step 1
Uninstall SIPLACE Setup Center via the Control Panel.
You require the uninstall window in Windows for uninstalling.
X Click Start in the Windows start menu.
X Click Settings.
X Click Control Panel.
X Double-click Add / Remove Programs.
A list appears with the names of the software packages installed on the computer.
X Select SIPLACE Setup Center.
X Click the Change/Remove components button.
X In the Confirm File Deletion dialog box, click Yes if you wish to proceed or No if you wish to cancel
the uninstall process.
X Select Remove to remove all installed features.
X Click Next to continue.
X In the Confirm File Deletion dialog box, click OK if you wish to proceed or Cancel if you wish to
cancel the uninstall process.
X Click Next and you get a summary of all components to be deleted.
X Click Next if you accept all the information entered so far.
X Click Done.
Step 2
X Clean up the disk and make sure that there are no more program files.
X Check the path
Program Files\Siemens SIPLACE\SIPLACE Setup Center
.
X If you will find additional files, please delete them (except for the database files with extensions
.mdf
and
.ldf
).
7.3 Uninstalling Setup Center Database
The database can be uninstalled with the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager.
X Expand the node Microsoft SQL Servers
X Expand the node SQL Server group
X Expand the node of the database server instance on which the SIPLACE Setup Center database
was installed to.
X Expand the node Microsoft SQL Servers

X Expand the node Databases
X Right click the node SIPLACESetupCenter and select Delete.
X Confirm the deletion of the database.
X Go back to the node of the database server instance.
X Expand the node Management
X Expand the node SQL Server Agent
X Expand the node Jobs
X Mark all entries starting with SIPLACESetupCenter and delete them.
X Confirm the deletion of the maintenance jobs.
X Go back to the node of the database server instance.
X Expand the node Security
X Expand the node Logins
X Mark all entries starting with SIPLACESetupCenter and delete them.
X Confirm the deletion of the logins.
The database is completely deleted now.
The ServerManager is an unsupported tool that is able to create, empty and delete the SIPLACE Setup
Center database. The password for the user "sa" is required.
It is recommended to use the ServerManager for the deletion of the database as it executes the steps
mentioned above automatically.
7.3.1 Uninstalling MSDE installations
X Uninstall the MSDE instance used for Setup Center.
X Remove the database files manually.
7.4 Uninstalling Forced Setup Verification
If the Setup at the Activation-CD is called up again, the following dialog appears.
X If Remove is selected, the option Forced Setup Verification and Traceability will be deleted.
WARNING:
All data will be lost when erasing or dropping the database with the ServerManager. Use with
caution.
