Precautions before Use
Only trained persons should operate these tape feeders.
Do not allow any untrained person to operate the tape feeders, mishandling of the tape
feeders can cause injuries.
Before operating these tape feeders, please read the instruction manual carefully for
correct operations.
Be sure to follow the operational instructions described in the instruction manual.
Although the precautions shown on the machine (Yamaha modular mounter (chip
mounter)) or in the instruction manual have been carefully reviewed, it is possible that
unanticipated events may occur in spite of these precautions.
Not only follow the precautionary instructions described in the instruction manual but also
try to handle these tape feeders carefully at your discretion all the time.
Person with a pacemaker should not handle the tape feeder.
The pacemaker might be affected by the magnetism, resulting in a serious
accident.
The cutter blade in the tape cutting jig is very sharp, take the greatest care not
to get injured.
Also, take care not to catch your nger in the spring section.
Be sure to strictly keep the above-mentioned instructions.
Otherwise, not only wrong operations of the component supply but also personal injury
will result.

Be sure to fully understand the contents of the safety instructions in the instruction
manual and follow the instructions.
Pay particular attention to the precautions shown on the machine (Yamaha modular
mounter (chip mounter)) and in the instruction manual.
When the precautionary items are ignored, it will result in personal injury or property
damage (damage to these tape feeders).
Do not modify these tape feeders nor use any parts other than the specied ones.
Doing otherwise may cause personal injury.
Do not perform any operations other than those described in the instruction manual.
Whenever a problem arises, regarding these tape feeders operations, performance, etc.,
please contact the marketing department or sales agency of YAMAHA MOTOR CO.,
LTD. for the solution.
When moving the machine (Yamaha modular mounter (chip mounter)), take
care that no people or objects come in contact with its moving parts.
If an abnormality occurs, clearly ascertain the type and circumstances of the
abnormality, and turn off the power of the machine (Yamaha modular mounter
(chip mounter)) if necessary. After the problem has been rectied completely,
reset the machine to its normal condition.
If the tape feeder is dropped, it might injure your foot or the feeder itself be
damaged.
Handle one by one carefully and take care not to drop.
Be aware that if the tower light of the machine (Yamaha modular mounter (chip mount-
er)) is lit green or blinking, it is operating automatically (or ready to operate) even if
the machine is not moving.
If earthquake, wind or ood, re, or lightning occurs, immediately stop operation of the
machine (Yamaha modular mounter (chip mounter)) and turn off the power.
If component pickup fails, causing the machine (Yamaha modular mounter (chip
mounter)) to stop, the component that failed to be picked up must be removed from the
feeder before you resume production operation.
After the suppressor has been moved up and down, make sure that the tape feeder front
hook is securely caught, and that the suppressor does not rise.

Notes on Maintenance
Only trained personnel should perform maintenance of the tape feeders, both
carefully and in accordance with the procedures specied.
A trained operator or service person should perform cleaning or replacement of
the cutter blades.
There is a sharp projection at the rear of the cutter base that might cause an
injury.
