1.4 Important notes on this user manual
1.4.1 Contents and filing of this user manual
This user manual contains basic information that must be observed when setting up, operating and
maintaining the machine. The service engineers, qualified staff, operators and users plus system
owner must therefore read it before commencing installation and commissioning. The instructions
must be kept permanently accessible where the machine is used.
In addition, the user must ensure that the employees have fully understood the contents of the user
manual.
1.4.2 Notes on danger, warnings and cautions
WARNING
Read the user manual thoroughly!
► Tasks may only be performed by qualified staff who have completed the relevant training.
► Only perform tasks on the machine if you have precise knowledge of the relevant section in
the user manual.
► Observe all danger notes, warnings and cautions.
► Please also carefully read through chapter 2 "Safety" [}13] of this user manual.

2.1 Conventions for the use of safety instructions

Knowledge of and compliance with the safety instructions contained in the user manual of the
SIPLACE machines is a prerequisite for any work on the HCS. The following safety notes are an
extract from the safety instruction of the user manuals for SIPLACE machines.
DANGER
Risk of injury to personnel and damage to the machine
Nonobservance of the safety instructions may cause injury to personnel and damage to the
head care station.
► Please observe the safety instructions in the user manual of the relevant head for all
work conducted.
WARNING
Safe operation of the Head Care Station (HCS)
Safe operation of the HCS depends absolutely on the operator being familiar with the user
manual and safety instructions and putting them into effect.
The HCS cover is always locked during the test sequences as long as the Stop or EMER-
GENCYOFF button is not pressed. It is not allowed to remove any cover or bypass the
safety devices/switches of the HCS during operation.
DANGER
Non-observance of the following safety instructions may cause injury to personnel
and damage to the machine!
