3.2 “Next Prgm Set-up” Window
When the [Next Prgm Set-up] button (*7) is pressed in the “Opn.Mode”
tab sheet (Fig. 1), the window (Fig. 2) appears on the screen.
This window makes it possible to set the pattern program data sched-
uled to be used for the next program.
By setting the pattern program data for the next program, the tape feed-
ers for the next program can be checked in advance while the machine
is running according to the current program.

To select the next program, move the line cursor to the program name
to be set as the next program and press the [Next Prgm Set-up] button.
The selected No. and program are set.
The same program name as the current one can be set as the
next program.

4. Feeder Check Operation
4.1 Prerequisite
Confirm that the following conditions are met before the bar code feeder
check function is used.
The bar code reader must be turned ON.
“Enable” must be set in the “Feeder Checker Set-up” group box.
(Operation Sequence on Machine Side: “AUTO OPN. MODE <PLACE-
MENT>” Æ “AUTO OPN. SUB-MENU” Æ “Opn. Mode” Tab Sheet)
4.2 Feeder Check Procedure
4.2.1 Checking the current program
Operation Procedure
(1) Set the current program.
(2) Read the data required for feeder check operation, using the bar
code reader.
Refer to “7. Handling of Bar Code Reader”.
(3) Check the bar code on the feeder where the required components
are mounted and set the feeder on the feeder carriage.
(4) After the bar code checking is completed, send the checked data
from the bar code reader to the machine.
Refer to “7. Handling of Bar Code Reader”.
(5) After the components have been checked and the feeders are in-
stalled correctly, the machine can be operated automatically.
When “Enable” is set in the “Feeder Checker Set-up” group
box, the machine cannot be started unless the feeder check
operation is completed.
4.2.2 Checking the pattern program data pre-set as one for the
next program
Operation Procedure
(1) Select the program name to be pre-set as one for the next program
in the “NEXT PROGRAM SET-UP” window on the machine side.
(2) Read the data required to check the feeder for the next program,
using the bar code reader.
Refer to “7. Handling of Bar Code Reader”.

4. Feeder Check Operation
(3) Check the bar code on the feeder where the required components
are mounted and install the feeder on the feeder carriage or set
ready for installation.
(4) After the bar code checking is completed, send the checked data
from the bar code reader to the machine.
Refer to “7. Handling of Bar Code Reader”.
(5) After the components have been checked and the feeder is installed
correctly, the automatic operation of the machine can be started
without checking the feeders when the pattern program data se-
lected as the next program is set as the current one.
4.2.3 Checking the feeder which caused a component shortage
error
Every 10 seconds, the bar code reader checks whether or not a com-
ponent shortage error has occurred on the machine side.
When a component shortage error occurs, the feeder carriage returns
to its origin and the [READY] button is turned OFF.
The bar code reader reads the feeder No. (slot No.) and the component
ID which caused the component shortage error and the machine is set
in the component check mode (component replenishment mode).
Operation Procedure
(1) Check the bar code on the feeder that caused the component short-
age error and install the feeder on the feeder carriage.
Refer to “7. Handling of Bar Code Reader”.
(2) After the bar code checking is completed, send the checked data
from the bar code reader to the machine.
Refer to “7. Handling of Bar Code Reader”.
(3) After the feeder has been checked, installed, and the data has been
sent out, press the [FEEDER READY] button. The feeder carriage
becomes operational again.
(a) The feeder carriage where a component shortage error
has occurred cannot be set ready for use as long as the
operation of the component check function is not com-
pleted.
(b) When a component shortage error occurs, the [FEEDER
READY] button become valid after the component check
function is implemented. In other words, the buttons are
invalid as long as the component check function is not
implemented.
