18 Installation Manual SIPLACE Traceability 3.1
The following software is not supplied on the Support Media DVD and must be acquired separately, if
needed:
MS Excel 2000/2003 (to visualize exported CSV files)
MS SQL Server 2008 (Standard Edition)
MS SQL Server 2005
Supported Traceability Data Sources
SIPLACE Traceability data in the form of XML files V3.1, produced by Trace Service
5.1.2 System Requirements for Trace Service
Recommended Hardware
Processor with min. 3.2 GHz (e.g. Econel 100)
2.5 GB RAM (e.g. Econel 100)
Recommended Software
System environment - one of the following versions:
– Preferred: Windows Server 2008 SP2 (32 Bit)
– Compatible: Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008 SP2
(64 Bit), Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 Bit)
Supported database (for connection to Setup Center):
– Preferred: MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 (32 Bit)
– Compatible: MS SQL Server 2005 SP3 (32, 64 Bit), MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 (64 Bit)
– Only for testing/training purposes: MS SQL Server 2005 SP3 Express(32, 64 Bit), MS SQL
Server, 2008 SP1 Express (32, 64 Bit)
The software required for running Trace Host can be found on the Support Media DVD. This
includes:
– SQL Server 2008 Express
– Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 Framework
– License Manager 2.2
SIPLACE Pro Interface version 8.0, 7.1
Trace Service requires the SIPLACE Pro XML Adapter in order to load the line configuration from
SIPLACE Pro.
SIPLACE Setup Center 3.2, 3.3
SIS 8.0, 7.1 (for line based Traceability)
OIB 2.1
Supported Traceability Data Sources
Traceability data in the form of XML files V1.0, V2.0, V1.1, V2.1 produced by 40x, 50x and 60x
stations and Traceability data (internal format) produced by 70x stations.

5.1.3 System Requirements for Traceability Option in SIPLACE Explorer
The following requirements must be fulfilled for the installation of the traceability option in SIPLACE
Explorer:
Trace Host 3.1 application
SIPLACE Explorer V2.7
For the SIPLACE Explorer system requirements, refer to the "Installation and Configuration Guide"
(Item No.: 00195630-xx).
5.1.4 Software Components and Configuration
5.1.4.1 Software Components
The SIPLACE Traceability installation CD contains the following software components:
SIPLACE Trace Host 3.1
SIPLACE Trace Service 3.1
Traceability Option 3.1 for SE 2.7
The following software components on the Support Media DVD must be installed on your computer
before you can install SIPLACE Trace Host 3.1:
Java 2 JRE 1.6
Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 Framework
Apache Tomcat 5.5
You do not need to install Tomcat 5.5 on the same computer as SIPLACE Trace Host.
MS XML Parser Version 6.0
MS XML Parser Version 6.0 is also required for SIPLACE Trace Host Monitor 3.0. Install MS XML
Parser Version 6.0 on the same computer as Tomcat 5.5. You should also install Microsoft.NET 3.5
SP1 Framework on this computer.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, 6.0 SP2
Microsoft Internet Explorer is needed for displaying SIPLACE Trace Host Monitor and for invoking
Trace Host data from the database. Install Microsoft Internet Explorer on the same computer as
SIPLACE Trace Host.
Adobe Reader 7.0
This component is needed for reading the SIPLACE Trace Host 2.0 documentation.
SIPLACE Explorer 2.7
This options visualizes the traceability data recorded with Trace Host in SIPLACE Explorer 2.6.

5.1.4.2 Configuration
SIPLACE Trace Host can either be installed in SIPLACE LAN or distributed via SIPLACE and client
LANs. The following configuration options exist for SIPLACE Trace Host:
1. SIPLACE Trace Host on one Computer
This option involves installing all SIPLACE Trace Host software components one computer, without
a separate web server. However, the database server can be on a separate computer.
2. SIPLACE Trace Host distributed across several computers:
This option involves installing the SIPLACE Trace Host software components on multiple computers,
according to your system requirements:
Trace Host PC
The following components need to be installed on this computer:
– SIPLACE Trace Host with the components:
Trace Host Server
Trace Host Manager
Trace Host Monitor
– Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 Framework
– Microsoft Internet Explorer
Web server for managing Java Servlets
The following components need to be installed on this computer:
– Apache Tomcat 5.5
– Java 2 JRE 1.6
– Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 Framework
– MS XML Parser 6.0
Database server:
– Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008
– Microsoft SQL 2005, 2008 Express edition (only for testing/training purposes)
