The following software components are included on the Support Media and will be installed
when required: 3
– Java SE Runtime Environment 8u202
Install Java on the same computer as SIPLACE Explorer. 3
– Java jTDS JDBC driver, version 1.3.1 driver
To access the SQL databases, the Tomcat Webserver and SIPLACE Explorer Server use
the Java driver jTDS (http://jtds.sourceforge.net/). You can find the licence conditions under
www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/lgpl-2.1. 3
The Support Media installs the jTDS driver in the Tomcat installation folder (Lib folder). 3
SIPLACE Explorer installs the jTDS driver in the SIPLACE Explorer installation folder (Lib
folder). 3
The Support Media installs the jTDS driver, version 1.3.1. You can update this version with
a newer version of the jTDS driver. 3
– Tomcat 8.5.57
– Microsoft Internet Explorer
Microsoft Internet Explorer is required to view and edit websites. 3
– Adobe Reader 10
This component is needed for reading the SIPLACE Explorer documentation. Adobe
Reader 10 is included on the Support Media. 3
For a detailed description of the specified installations, refer to the document “Navigation
Guide for the Installation Procedure of SIPLACE Software Systems”. 3
Consider the following before beginning the installation: 3
NOTE
Before installing Tomcat 8.5.57, make sure that all versions of Tomcat < 8.5.57 have been
uninstalled. Use the Apache Tomcat uninstallation program. This can be started via the
Start Programs Apache Tomcat Vx Uninstall Tomcat menu in Windows. 3

NOTE
You will need to specify the following information when installing Tomcat 8.5.57:
- Port number for Tomcat: By default, Tomcat is installed on port 8080. This means that your
users will access your website as follows:
http://yourServerName:8080/yourWebsite/index.jsp.
- Access data for the Tomcat administrator:
User name: admin
Password Policy: depending on the selected password policy, you need to enter a
password: MS128 or Siplace.1.
- Access data for the Tomcat website generator:
User name: deployer
Password Policy: depending on the selected password policy, you need to enter a
password: MS128 or Siplace.1.
This password is needed for website generation.
This login will automatically be used as default login for Line Configuration - Step 7 "Website
Generation". 3
NOTE
Before you install SIPLACE Explorer, make sure that Java SE Runtime Environment 8u202
has been installed on your computer. Install this software component via the Support Media.3
(3) SIPLACE Explorer options:
The options SIPLACE Traceability Option 2.0 and SIPLACE Maintenance Manager 1.0 are not
included in the SIPLACE Explorer delivery package and must be ordered (installed) separately.3
(4) SIPLACE Explorer installation:
Proceed as described in “Installation of SIPLACE Explorer 3.11” on page 25. 3

3.2 Update Installation of SIPLACE Explorer 3.11
To update from a previous version to SIPLACE Explorer 3.11, you must already have an
executable version of SIPLACE Explorer already installed on your system. 3
– Update from SIPLACE Explorer 2.0 - 3.10 to SIPLACE Explorer 3.11:
Uninstall the previous version with its components. For the installation, proceed as described
at “Initial Installation of SIPLACE Explorer 3.11” on page 21 3
NOTE
If you want to keep the existing line configurations and other settings, install the new version
of SIPLACE Explorer in the same folder as the previous version. See Fig. 3 - 6 SIPLACE
Explorer Setup - "Choose Folder" dialog box. 3
After performing the update, you can also install additional SIPLACE Explorer options: 3
– SIPLACE Explorer options:
The options SIPLACE Traceability Option 2.0 and SIPLACE Maintenance Manager 1.0 are not
included in the SIPLACE Explorer delivery package and must be ordered (installed) separately.3
– SIPLACE Explorer installation:

3.3 Installation of SIPLACE Explorer 3.11
NOTE
You must have Windows administrator privileges to perform installation. 3
Insert the ASM Software Collection USB Medium R20-2 USB stick into your computer.
Follow the instructions in the document “Navigation Guide for the Installation Procedure of
SIPLACE Software Systems”.
