LAN-related fault-finding and countermeasures
Trouble Solution
1 Communication disabled Check the wiring.
Type “Ping <IP address of the machine>” at the command prompt
of the host computer system to check the connection.
Ex.:
C:¥> Ping 192.168.0.249 ↵
If a message like the following appears several times, the
connection is normal:
’Replay from 192.168.0.249: bytes=32 time=10ms TTL=255’
If the below message is displayed, the line has been
disconnected:
’Request time out’
2 Communication breaks on
the way.
Check for any request for connection from other host computers.
(If two or more requests are sent, the computer which sent the last
one will be effective as a client.)
