• Start SITEST and perform a first reference run.
• Select the gantry for the desired vacuum check of the placement head C&P6/12
• Return all nozzles of the placement head to the nozzle changer.
• Replace a filled magazine at one magazine position with a nozzle magazine containing
nozzles for vacuum check [03067029-01].
• In the menu nozzles on head select for segment 1 the nozzle which was configured for this
magazine position.
• Activate the checkbox all segments as segment 1
• Pick up the nozzles for vacuum check with all segments.
• Select the menu vacuum check and perform a vacuum check.
Figure 4-2: measurement with closed nozzles – nominal
The measurement values show that open values deviates by up to 3 mbar from the closed
values.
• This is within tolerances of 25mbar, which is the precondition for a correct function.
• Check the valve plungers and suction plate and replace them in case the values are out of
tolerance.
NOTE
Error Message
The Error message „difference open – closed vacuum too low“ must be ignored here.

Scenario 1
Figure 4-3: measurement sample, open value incorrect
Example for faulty vacuum values, which can be caused by a damaged suction plate,
at segment 2.
Scenario 2
Figure 4-4: measurement with closed nozzles - nominal
Example for faulty vacuum values which indicate a damaged silicone hose at segment 1 and an
open nozzle at segment 3.
NOTE
Several damaged suction plate
If both measurement values for a segment are around 640 mbar the suction plate could be
destroyed.
NOTE
Faulty silicone hoses
Under certain conditions faulty silicone hoses can only be detected if the segments are extended.
In that case it is recommended to switch of the servo controller for the Z axis in order to perform
the vacuum check in lowest position by single measurement.
HINWEIS
Missing valve plunger
If both measurement values for a segment are around only 210mbar it indicates a missing valve
plunger.

Vacuum values and valve plunger positions
Figure 4-5: shematic representation plunger function
• If the valve plunger is in position "nozzle open" the vacuum area is sealed by two seal
rings against the atmosphere.
• If the valve plunger is in position "nozzle closed" the vacuum area is sealed by only one
seal ring (at the rear next to the motor).
• If the vacuum value "closed" is too low these seal rings could be insufficiently greased or
damaged
Recommendations for maintenance:
• Use ONLY greased valve plungers. (Isoflex topas).
• Exchanging valve plungers means:
- Clean the body of the valve plunger! Otherwise the good plungers with new grease are
contaminated by the dirty housing.
- For greasing the valve plunger use maintenance tool item no. [03049689-01].
- Perform vacuum checks, using the closed (red) „Nozzle type 769 vacuum test DLM“
[03067029-01].
• Check regularly the suction plate "blue" (from 10/2008 "white") and replace it (with 1.5 mm
allen key).
