Bad lubrication around the shutter area
This condition occurs when the shutter and the tape guide is not fully lubricated (if the
frictional force is felt when the shutter is moved back and forth manually).
☞ Solve this problem by applying the lubricant between the shutter and the tape guide.
If the problem persists even after the application of the lubricant, change to
subassembly state where the shutter is assembled into the tape guide.
Cylinder Air Leakage
Check the feeder pneumatic pressure of the MMI or check for the sound of air leakage
occurring around the cylinder.
☞ Check for the problem and contact our designated C/S (STS) or local agent.
Spring Wear and Cutoff
Check if the spring cannot perform its function due to wear or it was cutoff.

Tape Guide Locking
If the tape guide is not locked, the upper tape and lower tape may get out of the
designated position, causing defective part feeding.
☞ Check if the tape guide is locked.
Existence of Foreign Material around Sprocket
If a part escaped during defective feeding remains on the sprocket and ratchet, defective
part feeding may occur.
☞ Check for the remaining part and remove it using a brush or air gun.
Existence of Foreign Material When Installing Transfer Tape
When installing the transfer tape, if a part or foreign material is stuck between the tape
guide and transfer tape, defective part feeding may occur.
☞ Check for the existence of a part or foreign material and remove it.
3.3.2. Pitch error
When the component is not transported to the pickup point as set by the pitch.

When the ratchet does not rotate the number of times as set
Owing to bad adjustment of the pusher lever and stop pawl, the operation is not carried
out properly (in general, this occurs very rarely).
☞ Adjust the eccentricity pin.
When the Sprocket rotate beyond the number of times as set
When the force of removing the vinyl is excessive and the sprocket rotates more than the
set number
☞ Adjust cylinder rod.
For sending 12mm, adjust the cylinder rod to make ratchet pawl move by 3.5 ratchet
teeth.
If adjustment is impossible or adjusted position is frequently shifted, please contact
our C/S center.
When the carrier tape does not exit properly
This condition occurs when the carrier tape that has completed the chip supply gets stuck
in the locker and does not exit properly (especially for the case of using embossing tape).
☞ Raise locker by sufficiently pressing locker limit pin, fix the jammed transportation
tape correctly, and return the locker back to its original position.
3.3.3. Deviation of the pickup point (in Y direction)
Incorrect Tape Connection
If the transfer tape is connected using vinyl connection tape, check the connection state.
☞ Connect the vinyl tape again referring to the “2.5 Splicing”.
Distortion in Y direction from the time of placement
Check if there is any foreign material on the reference plane of the feeder and if found,
remove it.
