3.1 Proper Data Listing
The Proper data is a list of machine calibration variables and initialization
parameters used to compensate the subtle differences between machines.
Whether physically different or the way the machines are used in production,
these values can seriously affect the performance of a machine if altered
improperly.
After altering any of the Proper data items, a printed copy of the new Proper data
file should be placed in the machine’s Control Box. A plastic folder to hold this
copy is mounted to the right hand door of Control Box 2 for this purpose. Do not
forget to write the date, the machine’s serial number and your initials at the top of
the printout. Also, always keep the previous copy. This will be useful if a
problem should occur. We highly recommend that you also make a copy of the
Proper file to a floppy disk. Save it with a name that includes the machine’s serial
number and the date.
The Proper data items are classified according to the following symbols.
%: Varies from machine to machine. Proper data must be measured.
*: Cannot be changed by the user.
#: Can be changed by the user.
@: Automatically set by the machine (or it may be changed by the user.)
$: Not currently in use.
Warning
The Proper data should never be altered without the use of this manual
or without contacting a Fuji technical support engineer. Altering the
Proper data items incorrectly will damage the machine.
