¯ All cables (Mains and interface cable) and compressed air supply connected to the Productivity
Lift must be laid and fastened so that nobody can trip over them.
¯ Immediately replace any warning and danger stickers which have been positioned wrongly or
cannot easily be read. Clean the stickers as indicated in these instructions.
¯ Covers on the Productivity Lift, which can only be opened or removed with the help of tools or
service door key, may only be removed by personnel authorised for this task.
¯ The service door key, the keys for the key switch and the code numbers may only be accessi-
ble to personnel qualified and authorised for these tasks.
¯ It is strictly prohibited to change or to bypass safety precautions (including sensor elements,
such as safety limit-switches and light barriers).
¯ After any intervention with the machine (repair, maintenance etc.) a service technician or a
qualified person must first carry out a test run on the machine.
¯ If intervention is necessary for which your company has no adequately trained or authorised
personnel, then you must commission a service technician from SIEMENS AG L&A!
SIEMENS AG L&A will not accept claims of any kind, for damages or consequential losses
which arise through intervening with the machine in an improper manner!
¯ If potential danger is recognised during operation of the Productivity Lift, including its interac-
tion with the SIPLACE placement machine or other adjacent connecting modules, then the ma-
chine operator is obliged to immediately make a written notification to SIEMENS AG L&A.
SIEMENS AG L&A can consequently take the necessary precautions to reduce the potential
danger.
2.1.6.2 For safety of persons and operating personnel
¯ The machine operator may only carry out those tasks for which he/she is trained and which he/
she fully masters.
¯ The defined tasks for the individual user roles in normal and special mode must be observed.
¯ Never open the safety doors or covers of the Productivity Lifts, the SIPLACE placement ma-
chine or other adjacent modules, if you are not fully familiar with the operation and the function
of these machines!
¯ The safety doors and covers of the Productivity Lifts and the SIPLACE placement machine
may only be opened when you are instructed for the current task to do so in the user manual,
in an additional manual, on the monitor of the unit’s PC or when the machines are switched off,
the mains cable is disconnected and properly secured.
¯ For your safety, wear work clothes which comply with the guidelines of the „Berufsgenossen-
schaft“ (professional/trade association having liability for industrial safety and insurance),
meaning no clothes with wide sleeves etc.

DANGER
The Productivity Lift is powered by electricity. When operating electric appliances, there are al-
ways parts which are live and therefore dangerous!
Many components of the service door in the interior of the Productivity Lift, are still live with mains
voltage even when the main switch is turned off. All of these positions are labelled correspond-
ingly.
Before all tasks are carried out which do not belong to the operation of the unit, such as Service
and maintenance, the lift unit must be switched off at the main switch and the corresponding mains
cable must be disconnected from the mains supply.
Before all service and maintenance work is carried out on the Productivity Lift, the main switch
must be correspondingly labelled and secured with a personal padlock so that the machine cannot
be unintentionally switched back on! The mains cables must be secured so that the machine may
not be connected unintentionally! The compressed air must be switched off at the filter regulator
and must be correspondingly labelled to prevent it being switched back on unintentionally. There-
after, the necessary tasks may be carefully carried out.
When working on electrical components, comply to the special safety instructions in the corre-
sponding manual.
After the mains cable has been disconnected from the mains supply, the mains cable must still
lead down and out through the cable guide in the service door. In addition, the mains cable may
never be placed into the interior of the machine. If this is not obeyed, there is the danger that the
cable will be jammed and damaged when the service door is closed, which in turn can lead to dan-
ger for persons!
