1.1 General

1.1.1 Overview

This software guide describes the operating software for the SIPLACE machines (software ver-

sion SR.503.xx). It is intended for use by the following groups of people: 1

– operators

– line engineers

– service personnel.

The headers of each of the chapters provides information about the 1

– issue and the

– software version.

In addition to this, registered customers also have access to the SIPLACE User Group. Here you

can call up specialized information about our placement machines, for example 1

1.2 Structure of the software guide

This software guide contains the following chapters: 1

Preface 1

The Preface gives you an overview of the structure of the software guide. It also gives information

about user classification system. 1

Introduction and basic terms 1

This chapter describes the abbreviations used, the indicators of a SIPLACE machine and the sys-

tem components of a SIPLACE line. 1

Graphical user interface 1

This chapter provides information about the graphical user interface of the software and its struc-

ture (overview of the main view in the form of a flow chart). 1

Switching the SIPLACE line on and off 1

This chapter contains information about switching a SIPLACE line on and off. 1

Error information and TSS 1

This chapter indicates how the error information produced by the error diagnostics system can be

used. It also describes how to enter and store personal notes about errors. And how the

menu-controlled TSS provides support when identifying and analyzing errors. 1

Online help system 1

This chapter describes how to use the online help system. 1

Station extensions/software 1

Here you will find a description of how to use the remote service option and a short description of

all software options. 1
