1. GENERAL
A high-speed modular mounter FX-3RA has been designed to match up with a
KE-3010/3020V/3020VR, and “A” of the model name indicates “affinity” and “advanced.”
This machine inherits the flexibility performance under the concept that has been built up from
the KE-Series mounters, and it is a modlular mounter that can be used more easily and more
economically and features further expandability and compatibility as an evolved model of the
FX-Series machines.
This mounter is equipped with two component placement stations, on each of which two
heads having six component placement axes pick up and place components alternately.
In addition, the linear motor driving system is used in its X-Y gantry structure to realize the
very short cycle time without any problem.
Use of an electric feeder realizes high-accuracy component supply.
In addition, combination of a production support system, with this mounter allows you to
manage and optimize various types of tasks and information on production with a Juki
mounter(s) and a JUKI dispenser(s) for each floor (that is, the production site) collectively.
This comprehensive management system supports you to reduce cost, and to improve
productivity and product quality effectively.

2. FEATURES
High Precision and High Speed Placement of Components
① An FX-3RA consists of two stations, four beams and four heads, and the heads on two
stations located on the left and right sides and those before and after these stations
alternately pick up/place components on boards.
A new type of linear servo motor is used to control the XY-axes. A high-precision linear
scale whose resolution is 1 μm offers full-closed loop control to place a component on a
board at high speed and highly precisely and secures its reliability for a long time.
② After components are picked with six nozzles at the same time, the components are
recognized on the fly at a time while the heads are moving to the component placement
positions to place the components on boards at high speed.
③ Automatic tool change unit (ATC) allows nozzles for six heads to be replaced at the same
time.
④ The Flexible Calibration System (FCS), which allows a mounter itself to recognize a
component placement position error and correct it, can maintain the component
placement accuracy that is realized at the factory or control the component placement
accuracy after the line configuration is changed. (Option)
⑤ A stepping motor is used as a board transporting motor of all buffers and stations, and
speed is controlled independently.
Improvement of Availability
① Use of a new board detection system does not require any adjustment of the sensor
position to detect a board having a notch.
② The time required for changeover is shortened and the number of component pick-up
errors is reduced thanks to the automatic teaching function of a component (supplied with
a paper tape whose component type is from 0402 to 3216) pick-up position. In addition.
③ The HMS that is provided as standard permits checking and teaching the pickup height.
Low Frequency of Failure Occurrence / Low Component Lost Rate
① Since the laser unit continues monitoring the component pick-up condition until just before
a component is placed on a board, it allows you to check whether a component drops or
not.
② The function of self-calibrating the timing of releasing the vacuum pressure prevented the
components at a placement moment from being brought back.
③ Driving the motor at the PWBs supports (supporting of a PWB) resulted not only in
preventing the components from being vibrated at unclamping the PWBs to avoid their
derailing out of the production lines after placed, but also curtailing the times of clamping
and unclamping the PWBs.
④ Since a vacuum pump is adopted, the air consumption can be reduced and the
component pickup stability has been improved.
⑤ The component pick-up position automatic correcting function of an electric tape feeder
improves the component pick-up position accuracy, and this allows the mounter to pick up
a component stably.
⑥ As a process of component measurement operation performed while Component data is
being created, components are returned to the feeder from which they were picked up
after measurement.
