2 Assembly Instructions for
Optional Stopper
SIPLACE SX1/SX2
This manual describes the assembly of the optional stopper on SIPLACE® SX1/SX2 machines.2
2.1 Safety Instructions
DANGER: Nonobservance of these safety instructions may cause injury to per-
sonnel and damage to the machine!
Please observe the safety instructions in the operating manual of the relevant machine
for all work. 2
WARNING:
The SIPLACE machines are supplied with line voltage. 2
Parts of the system therefore carry dangerously high voltages! In specific modules the
voltage is present inside the machine base even when the main switch is turned off. 2
Handling the machines improperly or touching parts thereof which conduct high voltage
may result in death or serious physical injury as well as extensive property damage. 2
Before you perform any work on the machine, shut down the operating system and then
ensure that the machine is switched off at the main switch and is disconnected from the
power supply. In addition, the compressed air supply must be turned off at the main valve
of the compressed air unit, in the machine base, and the compressed air lines must be
bled by actuating the needle valve on the compressed air unit. 2
The area around the linear motors presents a risk of lethal injuries to persons wearing
heart pacemakers. Observe the instructions in Chapter "Special safety instructions for
working in the vicinity of powerful magnetic fields" in the operating and service manuals.2
Observe the applicable accident prevention regulations, DIN standards and special
safety codes of your country at all times. 2
Read and observe the instructions about residual voltages in Chapter "Operational
Safety". 2
Always observe the ESD regulations described in the operating guide, Ch. Operational
Safety. 2
While performing retrofitting work, always secure the machine to prevent unauthorized
reactivation or access by unauthorized persons, as described in Chapter "Locking the
Machine...". 2
There is an additional high risk of accidents when working with the programs and pro-
gram sections reserved for the service team. These programs may therefore only be
started by specially authorized and trained persons. 2

2.2 Conventions for the use of hazard symbols
This manual contains notes that must be observed to guarantee your personal safety and to
avoid damage to equipment. These notes are highlighted by warning triangles and are indicated
as follows according to the level of risk:
2.3 General
The maximum PCB width with stopper is 50 cm and without stopper is 35 cm. 2
Conversion is explained using the example of conveyor lane 1; the procedure is the same for
lane 2. 2
2
This optional stopper is provided with an assembly kit for one conveyor lane. When using a dual
conveyor, you need to order the kit twice. 2
The time needed for conversion is approx. 3.5 hours per conveyor lane. 2
2
DANGER:
as used in this manual means that death, severe injury or considerable damage to
equipment will occur if the danger instructions are not followed.
WARNING:
as used in this manual means that death, severe injury or considerable damage to
equipment may occur if the warning instructions are not followed.
CAUTION:
as used in this manual means that slight injury or damage to equipment may occur if
the caution instructions are not followed.
