5. Safety Rules when Handling Chemicals
WARNING
Use water to remove ethanol from the eyes.
If glue or ethanol enters the eyes, the eyes should immediately be
washed out with plentiful amounts of water. The person in question
should also receive an examination from an eye specialist as soon
as possible.
Keep alcohol and flux away from fire.
Since alcohol based flux and certain other chemical products are
flammable, care should be taken to prevent fires.
Be sure to provide sufficient ventilation for machines
that release dangerous gas during the reflow process.
Make sure that the gases generated during reflow operation are
properly ventilated.
The solder pastes found on the market today are composed of such
substances as organic solvents, lead, and chlorine.
Due to the dangerous nature of such materials, solder pastes
should be used and handled in strict compliance with the laws
and regulations in each country. Please exercise extreme
caution when handling such substances.
Do not let solder paste come into contact with your skin or clothing.
If it does, use plentiful amounts of water, cleaning fluid or alcohol to
clean it off. If solder paste gets into your eyes, wash your eyes out
immediately with ample quantities of water and consult a doctor as
soon as possible.
Protective gloves and glasses should be worn to prevent solder
paste from coming into contact with the skin when handling these
materials.
