7.4 Option "Component level indicator"

7.4.1 Purpose

This component informs the operator, at any time during placement operation when the individual

feeders are about to run out of components and need to be refilled. 7

Before a feeder becomes empty, a warning is output. If the operator reacts to this warning in time,

it is possible to avoid the machine coming to a standstill as a result of a "Track empty" error. 7

The operator can also be informed in time when a new component tape must be spliced, or a bulk

case or vibratory stick feeder must be refilled. 7

7.5 Option "GEM Interface"

7.5.1 Purpose

The GEM Interface makes it possible to operate a SIPLACE station with any GEM-compatible

host computer. The station computer of the SIPLACE station must still be connected to a line com-

puter in order to ensure that the machine, set-up and cluster data can all be programmed and

downloaded to the station computer. The GEM Interface serves to record the operating data of the

machine during placement operation. 7
