Conventions for the use of safety instructions
This manual contains notes that must be observed to guarantee your personal safety and to avoid dam
-
age to equipment. These notes are highlighted by warning triangles and are indicated as follows accord
-
ing to the level of risk:
DANGER
Nonobservance of these safety instructions may cause injury to personnel and damage to the
machine!
Please observe the safety instructions in the user manual of the relevant machine for all
work!
DANGER
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this indicates that fatal or severe injuries or considerable dam
-
age to property will occur if this hazard warning is not observed.
WARNING
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this indicates that fatal or severe injuries or considerable dam
-
age to equipment may occur if these warning instructions are not followed.
CAUTION
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this indicates that minor injuries or damage to property may
occur if this caution is not observed.
NOTICE
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this note provides information about the product or indicates
a part of the manual that requires particular attention.

1.1.3
1.1.3 Safety Instructions for the Power Supply (With SMPS)
Safety Instructions for the Power Supply (With SMPS)
Safety instructions fragment power supply - all machines with X module i.e. all machines except for SX12V2 from N001 and X-series S from H001
Residual voltages and discharge times in the machine
If the emergency stop button is pressed or the placement system is switched off, the 300 V~ link voltage
for the gantry axes and the 160 V~ link voltage for the star axes are reduced to harmless residual volt
-
ages in a very short time.
DANGER
Strong permanent magnet fields
Fatal hazard: persons with active implants (e.g. pacemakers, defibrillators, insulin pumps etc.)
are at risk from strong permanent magnetic fields inside the machine.
Persons at risk should avoid the immediate vicinity of the machine.
CAUTION
Danger of crushing
Danger of crushing for persons with passive metal implants (e.g. plates, screws).
Do not reach or lean over into the machine when the protective covers are open.
Do not bring any metal objects into the hazard area.
CAUTION
Strong permanent magnet fields
There is a risk that the strong magnetic fields could corrupt data on data media or check cards.
Keep sensitive data supports away from the permanent magnets.
DANGER
Dangerous voltages!
The machine is supplied with 3 x 360 V~ to 3 x 480 V ± 10 %, 50/60 Hz or optional with 3 x 200
V~ to 3 x 240 V~ ± 10 %; 50/60 Hz mains voltage. This means that some parts of the system
carry potentially lethal voltages - even when it is switched off at the main power switch and the
power plug is unplugged.
Incorrect handling of the placement system can result in death or severe injury or considerable
damage to equipment.
Always follow the applicable accident prevention and DIN regulations (particularly EN
60204, part 1 or IEC 60204, part 1) and the applicable regulations in your own country.
The covers of the power supply unit must ONLY be opened by appropriately qualified and
trained personnel.
Observe the safety instructions in the user manual during all service work!
Before you start working on the power supply, check it for absence of voltage and observe
the waiting times!
Introduction
1.1.3 Safety Instructions for the Power Supply (With SMPS) Safety information
Stationary Camera Type 25/33 Stationäre Kamera Typ 25/33 53
Energy state of the machine after switching off at the main power switch
Placement system switched off at the main switch, but still connected
Placement system switched off at the main power switch and disconnected
Compressed air conditions in the machine after switching off at the main switch
When the system is switched off at the main power switch or if the power supply fails, the electrically-
controlled main valve of the compressed air unit closes. The pressure will drop to 0 MPa (0 bar) within
5 seconds.
DANGER
Hazardous voltages in the power supply unit!
The power supply unit houses components (capacitors) that can carry hazardous voltages for
about 5 minutes after the machine has been switched off and the power plug has been un
-
plugged.
Wait at least 5 minutes before your start working on the power supply unit.
Work on the power supply and the contactor safety breaker (CSB) must only be carried out
by service engineers of ASM Assembly Systems GmbH & Co. KG or by machine owner ser
-
vice engineers who have been trained by ASM.
CAUTION
Loss of data!
To avoid losing data, assess the following criteria before switching off your automatic place
-
ment system (apart from in emergencies):
Has the placement system finished transmitting machine, setup and panel data?
Has the placement system finished processing the PCB?
Has the placement system completed the run-up phase?
DANGER
Risk of death by voltages!
Incorrect handling of the placement system can result in death or severe injury or considerable
damage to equipment.
The following components still carry potentially lethal voltages on the power supply even if the
main power switch is switched off:
Main power supply cable connection terminals
L1, L2, and L3 of the main switch S1
Service socket X98
Contactor safety breaker (CBS) still carries voltage for 5 minutes after switching off at the
main switch.
The color of all individual wires which still carry potentially lethal voltages even if the main
power switch is switched off is orange.
