Malfunction Cause Solution
ERR 10 Taring is not possible. The device cannot be manu-
ally tared because an applica-
tion program has the tare
memory reserved.
To release the tare memory:
Exit the application program
with the [Back] button.
ERR 11 The weight value cannot be
saved in the tare memory.
The weight value is negative
or “zero”.
Check the sample being
weighed.
Zero the device before plac-
ing the sample on the bal-
ance if necessary.

The operating display is
blank.
The device is disconnected. Check the connection to
the power supply.
The power supply unit is not connect-

ambient conditions.

Change the installation site.
A foreign object is positioned between
the weighing pan and the housing.
Remove the foreign object.
The weight readout dis-

obviously wrong.
The device has not been calibrated and
adjusted.
Calibrate and adjust the de-
vice.

The device was not tared before weigh-
ing.
Tare the device.
For a conformity-as-
sessed device: The [In-
valid weight value] dis-
play is displayed.
The cause of this fault is displayed after
pressing the [Unit change] key. At the
same time, the “Toggle between
weight units” function is locked.
WARMU.xx.: The device is in the warm-
up phase and has not yet reached its
operating temperature. xx = remaining
time in minutes
Comply with the warm-up
time after switching the de-
vice on.

11 Decommissioning
11.1 Decommissioning the Device
Procedure
t Switch off the device.
t Disconnect the power plug from the socket (supply
voltage) at the installation site.
t If accessories are connected to the device: Discon-
nect the accessory from the device (see instructions
for the accessory).
12 Transport
12.1 Transporting the Device
Procedure
t
CAUTION Risk of injury when carrying the device!
t Use both hands to carry the device. To do this,
reach sideways under the device with both hands.
t Do not carry the device on the draft shield or the
control unit.
t Use suitable conveyance devices for long transport
routes.
13 Storage and
Shipping
13.1 Storing
Procedure
t Decommission the device.
t Store the device according to the ambient condi-
tions (see Chapter 15.4, page44).
13.2 Returning the Device and
Parts
Defective devices or parts can be returned to Sartorius.
Returned devices must be clean, decontaminated, and
properly packed, e.g. in the original packaging.
Transport damage as well as measures for subsequent
cleaning and disinfection of the device or parts by Sarto-
rius shall be charged to sender.
Devices contaminated with hazardous materials, e.g.,
harmful biological or chemical substances, will not be
accepted for repair or disposal.
Procedure
t Decommission the device.
t Contact Sartorius Service for instructions on how to
return devices or parts (see www.sartorius.com).
t Pack the device and the parts properly for return, e.g.
in the original packaging.
14 Disposal
14.1 Disposing of the Device and
Parts
The device and the device accessories must be disposed
of properly by disposal facilities.
A battery is installed inside the device. Batteries must be
disposed of properly by disposal facilities.
Many of the packaging materials are recyclable to con-
tribute to reducing global waste volumes.
Procedure
t Dispose of the device in accordance with local gov-
ernment regulations. Inform the disposal facility that
there is a lithium battery installed inside the device
(type see Chapter “15.9 Backup Battery”,
page 49).
t Dispose of the packaging in accordance with local
government regulations. Utilize local recycling op-
tions.
