2. Lubrication
Precautions During Lubrication
Prior to beginning any lubrication, turn the main breaker to off.
Apply an appropriate amount of lubricant. If too much lubricant is applied, it
may splatter and drop on boards inside the machine. Special care should be taken
to keep the camera lens clean for stable part inspection. Use a lens cleaner to keep
the lens clean.
Types of Lubricants
The lubricants that are used have the following characteristics.
Daphne Eponex No. 2
Biral T&D
Lithium grease by Idemitsu suited to mid/low speed parts.
Anticorrosive spray on oil suited to low speed, low load
parts.
Characteristics
T011E
Type
AFC Grease
High grade synthetic oil based on grease by THK suited to
high speed parts.

Lubrication Instructions
The machine's lubrication points are shown in the following pages. Please refer to these
tables and illustrations when lubricating the machine.
1. Begin by checking the illustration for the lubrication points. White arrows indicate
surfaces that require greasing or oil. Black arrows indicate grease fittings, and
signify that grease should be applied using a grease gun.
Note: Even LM blocks that do not have a nipple can be lubricated by applying grease
between the block and the LM rail (bearing mechanism). The grease that adheres to
the ball bearings and rollers will be taken into the LM block, thereby lubricating the
LM block.
2. The symbols shown below are used in illustrations to indicate the location, type,
and schedule for lubrication.
: Apply an appropriate amount of lubricant.
R: Apply small amounts for rust protection.
N/A: Lubrication prohibited.
3. Lubrication should be performed in accordance with the "lubrication schedule"
indicated in the tables.
The schedule periods are as follows:
Every day: Lubricate every day (24 hours), regardless of the machine
operation time.
Every week: Lubricate every 7 days, regardless of the machine operation
time.
Every month: Lubricate every month, regardless of the machine operation
time.
Every 3 months: Lubricate every 3 months, regardless of the machine operation
time.
4. Use the checklist provided at the end of this chapter to verify that all lubrication
tasks have been performed.
