Introduction

This manual describes the installation and removal of the trailing cable for Siplace HF and X-Series ma

chines in their various versions.

This manual sometimes uses diagrams of the SIPLACE HF machine. However, this does not affect the

installation and removal for X-Series machines. If there are differences between the two machines types,

which need to be observed, this will be indicated on the diagrams.

Trailing cable HF

Depending on the arrangement of gantries, there are three different trailing cable types available for

SIPLACE HF machines.

▪ Trailing cable for HF machines at gantry 1 in a placement area with one gantry

Depending on the arrangement of gantries, there are three different trailing cable types available for

SIPLACE X series machines.

▪ Trailing cable for X series machines in a placement area with one gantry:

Downwards compatibility

These versions of the trailing cable can also be used with SIPLACE HF machines up to ma

chine number A-219, in conjunction with the "Trailing cable retrofit kit" [03046248-01]. This ret

rofit kit is included in the trailing cable spare parts set.

► Fit the new cable supports.

CAUTION

Conversion to a new trailing cable

Some of the machines up to number B-078 have been converted to accommodate the new trail

ing cable from number B-079.

► Before ordering the trailing cable, please compare the item numbers on your current ma

chine.

► The conversion of a customer machine involves significant costs and is only possible at the

SIPLACE headquarters.

These versions of the trailing cable can not be used with SIPLACE X series machines up to

machine number B-078

NOTICE

Backwards compatibility

This version of the trailing cable is only backwards compatible if you also replace the hotlink

card [03054633

01] and the Vision board spread spectrum [03054634

01] and then only with

versions from B-079 up to now. Machines before B-079 can not be upgraded.

From version B-1071 onwards the hotlink card and the Vision board spread spectrum are no

longer necessary.

Handling the Hose Unlocking Tool [03047090-xx]

Due to the poor access to the pneumatic distributor, we recommend using an unlocking tool.

With the help of the hose unlocking tool [03047090-xx] you can open the unlocking ring (blue here) for

the compressed air connection. This enables you to remove both the hoses and the dummy plugs This

enables you to remove both the hoses and the dummy plugs (additional tool included in set).

Preparation

The trailing cable is supplied as a complete assembly. In accordance with your machine's configuration,

you will need to remove the relevant modules, covers and cover plates before you can dismantle the

trailing cable.

► Where necessary, remove the cover plates from the gantry trailing cable. Mark their exact position

to ensure correct replacement later.

► Remove the top central cover from the SIPLACE machine.

► Remove the upright EMC plates, so that you can reach the trailing cable.
