You will need the following tools, equipment, consumables and spare parts for the bi-monthly
maintenance work: 1
Vacuum cleaner
Oil stone
Scissors
Ethyl alcohol
WD40, 400 ml (item no. 00325833-01)
Interlock WTC (item no. 00359419-xx), if necessary.

: Stop the placement process of the placement machine.
: Move the MTC into the refill position 1 (basic position of the MTC).
: Open the cover and the protective door of the placement machine.

Checking the leaf springs of the WTC interlock 1
a Check each cassette to see if the leaf springs of the WTC interlock are against the side wall of
the cassette.
If they are not, either the WTC is not properly engaged or the leaf springs are faulty.

Use of cassettes with faulty leaf springs is prohibited. Faulty leaf springs must be exchanged (In-
terlock WTC (item no. 00359419-xx). 1

Checking the WTCs 1
s Check the WTCs for breaking (broken handles and handle sleeves, too), for loose or protru-
ding reinforcing strips and leaf springs and for a defect waffle pack tray interlock (see illustra-
tion).

Defect WTC are not to be used and must be replaced. Dont’t use WTCs which are obvious tighter
to push into the cassette or which are not to insert correctly into the waffle pack tray (defect
because of warp). 1

: Exit the refill position.
: Press the Start button.

Maintain the component table 1
a Clear the feeder area.
: Use a vacuum cleaner to remove loose components from the component table.
s Use a whetstone to remove any unnevenness on the magnetic bar.

d Use a lint-free cloth sprayed with WD 40 to protect the feeder area.
f Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any loose components from the tape container, and remove
any adhesive labels and tapes that are no longer needed.

g Cut the protruding used tape off flush with the feeder and empty the component drawer on
8mm S feeders.
: Place the feeder on the feeder area once more.
Make sure that the conveyor is in the right location and is connected correctly. 1

: Close the cover and the protective door.
: Switch the placement machine on at the main switch.
: Repeat these tasks in all the feeder areas.
