1.8.5 Greasing the lifting axis spindle and guidance
– Activate the placement machine and the MTC.
– Use the station software to move both towers into the uppermost position.
– Switch the MTC off at the main switch and unplug the MTC from the power supply. This dis-
connects the MTC reliably from the electricity.
– Dock out the MTC from the placement machine.
Attention: The tower is not in correct transport position. The MTC center of gravity is higher up
and there is a greater risk of it tipping over. 1
– Prepare the grease gun (see Section "Preparing the Grease Gun").
1
1. Remove the left and right hand side cover from the MTC.
2. Remove the cover plates on the feed axis 1 and 2.
You can now access the spindle nut and the linear guides.

Note:
In case of older MTCs the lubrication nipples of the linear guides points to the inner side, therefore
it is not possible to fit the grease gun. Using a wrench SW 8 you can turn the lubrication nipples
to the outer side and then fit the grease gun. 1

1. Lubrication nipple for the greasing of the spindle nut.
1
– Fit the universal grease gun mouthpiece onto the lubrication nipple of the spindle nut.
– Pump the grease gun twice.
– Remove the grease gun.
– Use a dry cloth to remove any residual grease from on and around the lubrication nipple.
1
The greasing of the spindle nuts must be performed on both towers. 1
