1 Introduction
This user manual is a guide or reference work for operating and setting up the SIPLACE
®
TX-
Series placement machines.
The TX-Series placement machines are available in seven different variants:
– SIPLACE TX1
– SIPLACE TX2
– SIPLACE TX2i
– SIPLACE TX2i W
– SIPLACE TX2 micron
– SIPLACE TX2i micron
– SIPLACE TX2i micron 15µm
The numbers in the type name indicate the number of gantries used. Each gantry has one place-
ment head. The term micron stands for enhanced placement accuracy of 20/25 µm or 15 µm. A
separate machine type is available for placement accuracy of up to 15 µm.

The header of each chapter contains the release and software version, to which this manual ap-
plies.
PLEASE NOTE
The SIPLACE TX-Series placement machines are of largely identical design. Any differ-
ences will be mentioned specifically.
For information about the relevant configurations and options, please refer to the
specification documentation for the SIPLACE TX or SIPLACE TX micron machines.
The diagrams in this user manual show the SIPLACE TX. These diagrams also apply in
principle to the SIPLACE TX micron. Additional diagrams will be shown for any devia-
tions.

1.1.1 Contents and filing of the user manual
This instruction manual contains basic information that must be observed when setting up, oper-
ating and maintaining the placement machine. The service engineers, qualified staff, operators
and users plus system owner must therefore read it before commencing installation and commis-
sioning. The instructions must be kept permanently accessible where the placement machine is
used.
In addition, the user must ensure that the employees have fully understood the contents of the
user manual.
